We are running our 16th cohort of Trainee Nursing Associate Apprentices, working in partnership The University of Cumbria.

This post is an apprenticeship post commencing on the March 2025 cohort, which will see you develop to a NMC registered Nursing Associate, completing a 2 year foundation degree training programme. The course is fully funded.

Internal candidates,will be on a 2 year Trust Secondment contract
External Candidateswill be a 2 year fixed term contract.

This post is specifically for the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), Duddon House, Fairfield Lane, Barrow in Furness, LA13 9AZ

As a trainee you will be based within clinical practice for the duration of the programme and will have study leave to attend University. You will rotate through different services within your speciality / service area (where applicable) and undertake block placements outside of your normal place of work, to gain a breadth of experience and skills.

Some travel is required so you must either be a car driver or be prepared to access public transport when on placement. You could be expected to travel up to 90 minutes each way to placement and work shifts and weekends.

You will need to demonstrate an understanding of healthcare and the role of a Nursing Associate and show evidence of being an effective communicator with the people you care for, their families and carers, as well as your colleagues and superiors.

You will need to be prepared to work hard and undertake study in your own time, while on the programme; learning the fundamentals of exceptional care and developing your depth of knowledge around important aspects of both physical and mental health. In addition you will be taught many clinical skills which will be required when you become a registered Nursing Associate.

All current apprenticeships must be completed in full, including your end point assessment, to enrol onto this Trainee Nursing Associate apprenticeship.

For internal candidates – you will need to have agreement from your manager to apply for this post, which will be verified if successful. As you will be on a Trust secondment contract, in the event of needing to withdraw from the programme.

On successful completion of the course you will be placed into a permanent band 4 Nursing Associate role within the Trust, however this may not be in your current work place.

During training you will be paid a Band 3 and there will be an expectation to work 37.5 hours.

If successful in securing a place on the course you WILL NOT be eligible for student finance.

Due to a review of the staff skill mix and internal staff movement, we are excited to be able to offer a post for a Pharmacy Technician to work across inpatient and community mental health based in Barrow-in-Furness. The role offers the opportunity to work amongst various professionals and be a key member of the multidisciplinary team working across these sectors to support seamless transfer of care. The community team is based at Duddon House and the inpatient unit is Dane Garth in Barrow.

The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with the clinical team, which also includes a Clinical Pharmacist, to address the care needs of patients and service users. The post will also involve close liaison with, patients, carers, primary care, in-patient mental health services and local acute trusts.

There will also be a requirement to ensure safe and effective medicines management processes within the service. This will include compliance with regulatory medicines management standards and implementation of medicines safety alerts. As a valued member of the pharmacy team, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to broader Trust initiatives and priorities. Due to the location of various units, an ability and willingness to travel around Trust locations on occasion may be required.

You should be enthusiastic and self -motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to prioritise own workload. You will provide a high level of pharmaceutical care as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team. In line with the rest of the trust The Bay will be implementing Clozapine One-Stop clinics and you would be instrumental in the development and delivery of this service.

Come and join our friendly and supportive Facilities team as a Removal and Deep Clean Operative, based in the Dorchester area. You will require a clean, full UK Driver’s License for this role.

You will be required to carry out deep cleans in our wards and kitchen areas as well as our theatre’s; working in conjunction with site housekeeping staff and ensuring the maintaining of National Cleaning Standards. Training will be provided for any machinery used during these cleans.

As the Removal Support, you will be instructed to carry out office moves, or furniture/hospital removals. Responsible for the transport, safe storage, delivery/collection of these items. This will include medical devices, all types of office furniture and hospital furniture ranging from beds and wardrobes, to mobile oven units and hoists. Responsible for the dismantling and assembling of equipment as required. Care and attention is paramount when undertaking this form of work so as not to damage any Trust property. The cleaning and simple weekly maintenance of NHS vehicles within this team. Physical skills are required to carry out the above work.

This role is a full-time role, hours are 8am – 4pm with some flexibility required. There will be times you will be required to cover all Trust sites located across Dorset. Work vehicles are provided for work use only and will need to be returned daily to the relevant base.
• Toassist with any removal requests , ensuring the safe passage of medical devices and Trust property from one location to another. Duties may include office moves or ward refurbs. Responsible for maintaining records of items put into storage.
• To perform specialist cleaning tasks/duties across multiple sites within The Trust including carrying out cleaning procedures to prescribed standards and in accordance with the work schedule, hospital policies and department operating procedures, either on an individual basis or as part of a team. Use specialist equipment for the deep cleaning process and terminal cleaning for which any required training would be provided.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a nine month Assistant Psychology post, specifically to support clinicians in the delivery of evidence based psychological therapeutic groups for people with complex emotional needs.

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual, with an interest in working with people with complex difficulties. The role would be primarily supporting the delivery of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Structured Clinical Management (SCM) skills groups in community teams. Main duties will include the delivery and the evaluation of the impact of the group, attending group supervision, MDT case discussions, and audit work. You will be joining a dynamic and busy service with a range of professionals and support staff. The post holder would also be connected to the adult psychology service, which has strong links with the local clinical psychology training courses.

The IPC team are really pleased to be recruiting into this new developmental Band 5 role. Previous IPC experience is not essential, but the applicant should show a strong interest in infection prevention.
