About Our Opportunity

The Finance Business Partner will primarily partner our businesses Psicon (based in Canterbury) and Prescriba (Based in Copenhagen) with an initial focus on establishing an FP&A presence within Psicon. Vital to your success will be to engage their senior teams, to become an expert in how our businesses operates and their associated complexities.

You will introduce robust reporting, forecasting and budgeting cycles, in line with those of Onebright, and work to deliver valuable insight and analysis, enabling decision making and supporting the business’ rapid growth agenda. Where appropriate, you will also work closely with the team on new business opportunities.

Reporting to the FP&A Lead, you will be an enthusiastic self-starter, comfortable with change and challenge, willing to ‘get your hands dirty’, and a thoughtful team player. This position is based in York, in a hybrid working model, and there will be some travel required to Copenhagen and Canterbury.

The Quality Assurance Team ensures that the quality of pharmacy services is effectively monitored and continually improves. You must be a qualified accredited checking technician (ACPT) or be willing to work towards this.

You will be based in the pharmacy department in York Hospital but may be required to work at other Trust on occasion. Core service hours are Monday to Friday 08:45 – 17:15. You will contribute to the weekend rota (1 in 8 weekends) and bank holiday rota (1 per year). You will have a regular dispensary slot once a week where you will dispense or conduct final accuracy as part of the accredited checking pharmacy technician (ACPT) led dispensary service.

The successful candidate will join the Urology team consisting of 8 consultants, 5 middle grades and a team of specialist nurses and junior doctors. Duties will include supporting both inpatient and outpatient services, dividing time between the operating theatres, wards, day surgery unit, diagnostic centre and clinics.

The Trust provides a range of urological services; surgery offered includes, but is not limited to, robotic & laparoscopic work (nephrectomies, pyeloplasty, adrenalectomy); stone & endourology including PCNL and ureteroscopic laser & ESWL; prostate surgery including TURPs & UroLift, pelvic floor surgery, pelvic endometriosis surgery, paediatric urological surgery, bladder surgery including TURBTs, Botox work and general urological day-case procedures such as circumcisions and hydrocoeles.

Job plans will be reviewed at least annually, following an appraisal meeting. The job plan will be a prospective agreement that sets out a doctor’s typical working pattern, duties and responsibilities and objectives for the coming year. It will cover all aspects of a doctor’s professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities and external commitments.

Additional programmed activities may be offered to the post holder, up to a maximum of 2 for full time posts, taking the maximum total to 12. Any offer of additional programmed activities will be based on the needs of the service and in line with the Trust objectives and will be reviewed on at least an annual basis.

The Cardio-Respiratory department offers a full range of invasive and non-invasive tests, including ECG, Ambulatory monitoring, exercise testing, Pacemaker implant and follow up (including brady and complex devices), diagnostic Angiography, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and Echocardiography (including Stress and Transoesophageal Echocardiography).

We are looking for someone to work within our Echocardiography service. The successful candidate will ideally be able to scan independently and be working towards their BSE accreditation. A good amount of experience in Echocardiography is required as a minimum. They will also work in tape analysis and as a 2nd in Stress Echocardiography and TOE lists. The successful candidate may also be expected to work in the new Community Diagnostic Hub's in Selby and at Askham Bar.

The Echocardiography department performs ~ 10,000 scans a year. We also have an established scientist led Valve Clinic, Stress Echocardiography service and Paediatric service.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 6 Cardiac Physiologist. Applicants should have either a degree in Cardiac Physiology or equivalent, or are currently studying on a Scientist training Programme - entering their final year of study.

You will join a national study team being established across the UK and will play a key role managing the study at NHS sites in England. We are delighted to offer a Neuromodulation Research Fellowship at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This 1-year industry funded post is looking to further the development of expertise in, and a strong evidence base for, neuromodulation.



The ideal applicant must hold a UK CCT in Anaesthesia and pain medicine or equivalent.The successful candidate will gain the exposure, experience, and confidence to become an independent neuromodulator. The candidate will learn how a successful service with low explant rates and high patient satisfaction is run. Further, this role will give the candidate dedicated time to undertake, publish and present neuromodulation research.

The fellowship will have protected time for high quality supervised research that will align with both local and industry research priorities. Within the post, they will be expected to engage and deliver NIHR portfolio studies related to pain and neuromodulation. However, they will also be required to develop and deliver investigator initiated, industry funded studies that align with the strategic direction of both the funder and the neuromodulation service. This position presently joint funded by Saluda medical, Nevro & Mainstay medical will help fill the current void in well designed and conducted randomised controlled trials in this sphere. This aligns with the recent publications in major journals (JAMA) and discussion at international meetings (INS) calling for this direction. York and Scarborough NHS Foundation Trust has a strong history in delivering randomised controlled trials (both commercial & non-commercial) in the sphere of Anaesthesia, Pain, Perioperative medicine, and Intensive Care and has several active trials ongoing. We successfully deliver many NIHR portfolio trials across our trust, a number of which have been developed and sponsored by York and Scarborough NHS Foundation Trust.

Please note that all workers on a bank contract are required to meet a minimum number of hours in order to keep their bank contract active. The current requirements are 45 hours worked in a six month period, this is an average of one shift per month.

• Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
• Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
• Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient
• Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
• Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands
• Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures
