Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for day-to-day implementation of the AI Investment Technical Strategy and yearly priorities, including technical and business objectives. Support AI Investment portfolio senior leadership in validating technical priorities based on trends and demand signal, ensuring individual projects are scalable across clients and developed according to standards and best practices. Assist in defining the AI Investment portfolio technical priorities and will ensure individual projects are in alignment and meeting development milestones throughout the year. Review project submissions, participate in design reviews, ensure documentation standards are met, and identify points of integration and re-use across the portfolio for critical opportunities. Work closely with the investment operations lead and other internal stakeholders within the CTO to ensure financial and programmatic functions are in alignment with investment business objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience as a data scientist, MLE, SW engineer or a technical product manager for data science and AI solutions
• 7+ years of experience in management setting project priorities and leading development teams in successful project execution
• 5+ years of experience with Agile and Kanban development life cycles
• 3+ years of experience supporting public sector clients
• Experience leading analytics, data science, or AI teams, developing team strategy, and ensuring key business metrics are met
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience leading or as a member of an AI R&D organization within the government or private sector
• Master's degree

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Investment Specialist team in Personal and Business Banking. • Machine Operator – responsible for operating warping machines, with multiple end reeds and minimum of 240 stations fine gauge.  Able to understand and set the proper settings and adjustments on the equipment.

• Creel – responsible for loading and unloading magazine creel.  Able to properly thread creel, eye board, and reed.  Able to identify and repair broken ends.  Able to adjust proper tension, according to layouts.

• Documentation – Ensure that labels for spools are filled out properly.  Able to read and respond to warping charts, layouts, and instructions.  Complete applicable JDE move tickets and yarn check in sheets accurately. Responsible for entry of all spools in log book.

• Lifting – able to remove warped beams of yarn, weighing up to 80 pounds, also able to move large boxes of yarn weighing up to 120 pounds.

• Basic Warp Knitting Operator:

  • Fabric damage repair, responsible for replacing broken ends and repairing minor damages in the knitted fabric in gauges up to 64 gauge.

  • Knitting Records – Responsible for recording accurately all damages encountered during production.  Also responsible for recording all webs doffed from machines.

  • Beam Loading – responsible for hanging beams on knitting machines and properly loading and threading the yarn according to the layout.

  • Layouts – responsible for reading, understanding and responding to written specification in the form of layouts with regards to:  threading, setting, needles, start up.

• Provides oversight, monitoring, and reporting specific to assigned business group for regulatory remediation.
• Analyzes financial and related data to determine the needs of the client for proper structuring of the Bank's products and services.
• Monitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues.
• Ensures proper documentations for loans and cash management services.
• Ensures extension of credit/delivery of cash management services is in accordance with corporate policies, pricing guidelines, portfolio considerations.
• Gathers data to advance sale process and completes all required documentation.
• Assists team in pre-sales activities such as pitch preparation, client research, preparation of prospect and client files for further action.
• Tracks implementation requests to keep the process on track with timelines.
• Compiles pre-call and post call information packages by accessing internal systems and bank personnel to validate client holdings, pricing, and volumes.
• Provides research and data gathering to sales team to facilitate solution to the client’s/prospect’s business and needs.
• Assists with sales and service administration and processing ensuring client experience is seamless and opportunities are identified and met.
• Maintains current client information on Bank system/files to ensure client history is accurate and complete.
• Ensures accurate billing to clients.
• Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
• Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
• Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

• Qualifications:
• Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• If a Credit Qualifiable job, Credit Qualifications and associated credit knowledge and skills according to the established qualification standards.
• Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Drive discussions with ISC and BU leaders to ensure maximized value creation and work closely with BUs, Regions and global functions (GSC, Procurement, …) to understand context, drivers, dynamics and build robust Business Cases

• Responsible for all Business Cases related to Network architecture projects (manufacturing, logistic, sterilization, …), including existing and new programs

• Support analysis and preparation for EPDT

• Provide ad hoc support or special projects, as required (including potential M&A projects)

• Provide guidance and assist in the coordination of quarterly projections, annual budgets, and 3-year strategic planning process

• Provide guidance for restructuring / integration accounting treatments in accordance with GAAP

• Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles

About you: To be successful in this role, you require:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance Required

• MBA/ CPA/ CMA preferred 

• Operations Finance experience preferred

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant finance experience

• Previous experience within BDX Finance preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong Financial systems and tools knowledge and utilization skills (HFM, SAP, JDE, BPC)

• Advanced proficiency in Excel as demonstrated by previous experience creating and manipulating complex spreadsheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.) required

• Previous ERP costing experience (SAP / JDE highly desirable) related to standard cost build-ups and work order variance analysis.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills

• Demonstrated ability to use logic, reasoning, and critical thinking in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

• Demonstrated ability to build credibility with and challenge stakeholders to drive initiatives and deliver high impact solutions to meet business needs

• Resilient and persistent when faced with obstacles

• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and handle multiple/detail-oriented tasks

• Strong collaboration and demonstrated ability to establish relationships and build rapport with all stakeholders, and influence management through informed discussions and presentations

• Travel: plant site and headquarter visits, as required
