Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust are seeking an Occupational Health Technician to work as a member of the highly professional occupational health and wellbeing team providing the highest standard of professional customer focused service.

You will undertake a wide range of clinical activities including performing health surveillance tests e.g. spirometry, skin assessments, under the guidance of trained clinical staff reporting the results to the responsible Occupational Health Practitioner.

You will also support OH health care programs and support audit and research activity as required. The post holder will be required to work across all areas of the service including commercial contract work areas and will need to be able to travel between sites.

To assist in the planning, implementation and administration of health surveillance programmes/other screening and maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date occupational health records supporting and undertaking OH specific reports and data management.

Administration activities may be performed under the guidance of administration manager as appropriate.

You will support OH health care programmes and support audit and research activity as required.

You will be required to work across all areas of the service including commercial contract work areas and will need to be able to travel between sites.

Examples of skills include:
• Spirometry
• Audiometry
• Venepuncture for a wide range of required blood tests.
• Screening of pre-employment health questionnaires.
• Measurements of routine observations

We are looking for experienced 0-19 Community Band 5 Nurses to work on a temporary basis, as and when required, who will support the team, department and organisation to achieve the Trust’s mission of “best care by the best people”.

We are looking for experienced Community Mental Health Band 6 Nurses to work on a temporary basis, as and when required, who will support the team, department and organisation to achieve the Trust’s mission of “best care by the best people”.

You should be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a minimum of 2 years post registration/qualification, good written and verbal communication skills, be able to work as part of a team and demonstrate an understanding of mental health issues with experience of dealing with emotional distress.

You will be able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of care including working/liaising with multi-disciplinary teams and other agencies in the provision of care and have the ability to engage service users and relatives with empathy and compassion.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Foster recovery through empowerment of service users and carers by involving the service user and carer in the planning of their care establishing and maintaining consistent supportive relationships, which encourage increased self-determination and responsibility for service users and their care.
2. Offer a range of evidence based interventions and risk management approaches enabling the service user and carers to reduce and manage symptoms and high-risk behaviour.
3. Be proactive, innovative and creative in delivering care, enabling the facilitation of service user’s recovery
4. Engage service users and carers in relapse prevention and crisis plans, providing intervention that maximizes the service user’s ability to resolve crisis and prevent hospitalization.
5. Facilitate early discharge from both inpatient and Home Treatment Team by providing regular, formal reviews.
6. Deliver a flexible and responsive service through practice that is dictated by service users/carers needs.
7. Work collaboratively and effectively with members of the multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with other agencies.
8. Deliver high quality care and provide solutions to service users with severe and enduring mental health problems.
9. Provide care within the Recovery Model of practice maintaining service users within their own environment in the community.

Brentwood Community Hospital

You will be involved in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care and must have recent clinical experience, ideally in a community or community hospital setting. 2. To deputise when required in the team managers absence and delegate appropriately to health care assistants.

4. To be responsible for providing accurate records of information required by the Trust for audit purposes.

5. To ensure effective risk management at team level by accident/incident reporting, assessing and controlling risk and ensuring residual risks are added to the Trust register.

6. Demonstrate, teach and supervise the nursing care that families can safely undertake, advising as necessary in line with own competency.
7. Advise the family on prevention of illness and accidents within own level of competency.
8. Under the guidance of the Senior Nurse assess the need for service aids and equipment and to ensure that those provided are used appropriately and safely.
9. Ensure that the service aids and equipment are used in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines and to notify all known hazards to appropriate personnel.
10.Report to the Senior Nurse any deficiency in the provision of service aids and equipment.
11.Maintain accurate nursing records in accordance with NMC and Trust policy.
12.Actively participate in the Intravenous Therapy Service at home and manage patients accordingly.
