You will be a Consultant in General and Specialist medicine at the Royal Oldham Hospital. You will be expected to provide clinical leadership, diagnosis, management, and treatment for patients with a broad spectrum of medical needs; act as an expert resource for medical, nursing, and other health care professionals across the Trust footprint; and be an active champion of high-quality care. The post holder will complement and develop existing services through the provision of specialist knowledge & expertise.

The post holder is therefore required to have full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid licence to practice and be on the specialist register for medicine or be within 6 months of CCT or equivalent at the time of interview.

If you have a CCT within a medical specialty but are prepared to provide inpatient medical cover to the general medical wards there will be opportunity for out patient activity within chosen specialty.

You will be part of the Consultant on-call commitments which are currently 1 in 12 weekdays and weekends. As part of the wider multi-disciplinary team, you will deliver high quality patient care in acute inpatient, outpatient and community settings. You will have dedicated in-patient ward responsibility (typically 10 - 14 patients).

The successful applicant will have the opportunity if desired to clinically and educationally supervise junior doctor trainees who will be supporting the care of your inpatients.

To take part in regular medical audit as part of SPA commitment and to use the outcomes of medical audit to improve the care for patients in the Trust and local healthcare economy. Time is provided regularly to attend audit meetings and present audit where appropriate.

• People with serious or significant mental illness (SMI) who are in recovery and relatively stable in secondary care mental health services who could be cared for within primary care
• People with SMI who are eligible for an annual health check and medication review and improved access to physical health interventions

Be a key player within the Living Well MDT.
• Provide mental health triage, assessment, formulation and clinical interventions based on NICE guidance within the locality
• Support an access function for people, ensuring swift and seamless access to the most appropriate care pathway and onward access to mental health services

Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust is a Community and Mental Health Trust whose services include mental health and substance misuse services to the residents of Lancashire and South Cumbria. The Trust also provides low and medium secure care and forensic services.

Secure Mental Health Care for Lancashire and South Cumbria is provided at Guild Lodge, Whittingham. The service has steadily expanded from it's inception in 1999 and currently has a range of inpatient and community services including 154 beds.

Guild Lodge consists of 3 main service lines (14 wards), which include:

o Men's service
o Women's service
o Acquired Brain Injury Service

Each of the services has their own model of care and provides bespoke training in addition to the comprehensive Trust and site Induction.

We currently require nurses with at least 24 months experience at Band 6 who have recent, significant experience of working within an inpatient mental healthcare setting. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced dietitian to join our dynamic and friendly Community Dietetics Team in Oldham. The senior managers in the care organisation in Oldham are inclusive, friendly and encourage innovation.

You will work as an autonomous practitioner within in a variety of settings including community clinics, care and nursing homes and patients own homes. You will work as the key professional to ensure seamless discharge of patients from acute to community settings. You will support patients who are discharged before seen by the acute dietitians and A&E to prevent further deterioration in their condition, readmission via A&E and reliance on community services with long wait times.
You will liaise with Community Dietetics team, local GP's, care agencies and Urgent Care Team in the proactive management of complex patients with a view to prevent admission to hospital.
You will work with multidisciplinary teams to reduce attendance at A&E, improve independence and advice on appropriate use of oral nutritional supplements thereby reducing unnecessary spending on supplements.
You will hold sufficient experience and advanced clinical decision making skills to enable you to work independently across both Acute and Community Dietetics teams and Urgent Care.
You will act as a key professional to facilitate communication between acute/transfer of care teams, community dietetics and GPs. You will provide supervision for staff within the community dietetic team and will also contribute to student training.

You will work with patients across a range of specialities includingenteral tube feeding, gastro -intestinal conditions, complex respiratory conditions, motor neurone disease, adverse symptom management and severe malnutrition.

The successful candidate will be a radiologist with particular interest in gastrointestinal imaging. Interest in intervention is welcome but not essential. The successful candidate will have a primary base at The Royal Oldham Hospital, Fairfield General Hospital or Rochdale Infirmary.

The successful candidate will contribute to the general diagnostic work of the department, including on call. Home workstations are provided for protected daytime reporting and remote review of on call imaging. Consultants are expected to provide prospective cover for annual and study leave. Outsourcing of reporting occurs overnight.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with other consultants and members of the wider multi-disciplinary team to support and develop services.

The post holder will provide specialist out-patient and consultation services to children and young people up to the age of 18 years in a community CAMHS service. Based at Oldham CAMHS, you will join 3 other Consultant colleagues within the Oldham CAMHS team and will also interface with other agencies including the Local Authority, Paediatrics and Working Age Adult services.

Role Summary:

The post holder will provide a generic mental health service to children and adolescents up to their 18thbirthday. You will manage a cohort of children and young people with a wide range of mental health needs. Working as part of a multi disciplinary team you will have responsibility for direct clinical work, supervision, helping to lead in management of referrals, effective multi-agency liaison with various relevant departments and undertaking local strategic management tasks as appropriate to the post. We now have a vacancy for a full time Decontamination Technician / Driver to work with the Hospital’s Sterilization and Disinfection Unit (HSDU)at the Royal Oldham Hospital, which is part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

The HSDUis responsible for the decontamination and sterilisation of invasive reusable medical devices. The HSDU is a purpose-built facility at the Royal Oldham Hospital and serves as the sterile services department for the organisation and beyond, ensuring that medical devices are made safe for use between each patient. The service is quality-driven, in line with the departments ISO 13485 Accreditation.

The successful candidate will undertake decontamination science duties to assist in providing a specialised decontamination and resupply of medical devices service, contributing to the clinical care of the patient. Under supervision, you will support the day-to-day operation of decontamination services, to meet the demands of the department’s workload.
• To undertake decontamination science duties and assist (under supervision) the workforce of Decontamination Production Managers and Supervisors, in providing a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient.
• To carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing and sterilization of reusable medical devices. Record all tasks in the Healthcare Science Information Systems (tracking and tracing) database.
• Work in accordance with the Department’s Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems.
• To plan your own workload with limited supervision.
• The role involves exposure to blood and body fluids.

This role involves portering and driving duties on a cover basis; performing multi-drop deliveries and collections to hospital and other internal and external clinical settings.

You MUST be licenced to drive a 3.5tn vehicle (Luton van) with manual gear box; with at least 3 years driving experience.
