The Orthoptic department has a varied caseload, the post holder will participate in paediatric and adult ocular motility clinics, including virtual paeds clinics, the assessment of patients referred from eye casualty. The department is a clinical placement centre for orthoptic undergraduates, optometrists, medical students, post graduate medics and other health professionals and the post holder would be expected to contribute to this clinical teaching role.

The othoptic department has an established preceptorship/clinical supervision programme for new staff to the team. The role would be considered as a band 5 initially, progressing to band 6 on completion of appropriate competencies.

A Diploma/Degree in Orthoptics plus HcPC registration is required and experience as a clinical tutor would be advantageous.

Participate in the of delivery care across all elements of the service including paediatric and adult orthoptics, new patient orthoptic/optometry clinics, paediatric ophthalmology, adult squint and neuro-ophthalmology.

Provide orthoptic expertise for patients referred from eye casualty and from other specialities such as maxillofacial, neurology, stroke, paediatrics.

The successful candidate will be working with the multidisciplinary team in the Ophthalmology Department comprising of Orthoptists, Optometrists, Ophthalmologists, Technicians, OSPs, the nursing and admin teams.

Ophthalmology Services include eye casualty, day case, in-patient and outpatient facilities. It has strong links to the University of Nottingham through research and works closely with the regional Diabetic Eye Screening Service. We have a large team of Consultant Ophthalmologists, who provide outpatient and surgical services in a full range of Ophthalmology sub-speciality clinics.

The post holder will be required to work various shifts to support the needs of the service. This includes working weekdays, weekends, bank holiday days and varying hours with the earliest start time at 7.00am and the latest finish at 8.00pm. We are now seeking committed, enthusiastic and compassionate trainee ACP to undertake the three year apprenticeship at the University of Nottingham and join our established Stroke ACP team.

The Stroke department is led by a group of senior Stroke Consultants, and delivers secondary and tertiary care. Our team of experienced Stroke ACPs provide cover and leadership to the TIA clinic and Stroke Same Day Emergency Care Unit. The SDEC Unit was set up and is primarily staffed by ACPs providing rapid assessment of patients alongside an experienced nursing team. We also offer an in-reach service to ED to provide autonomous early intervention to patients who present at the QMC campus. Our goal is to provide the best possible care in this busy and thriving department. The ACP can expect to encounter conditions ischaemic stroke, haemorrhagic stroke, transient ischaemic attacks and stroke mimics.

We also provide support to the hyper-acute stroke unit, acute stroke unit and lead the stroke rehabilitation ward.

Applications are invited for the post of a substantive consultant in Histopathology specialising in Gastrointestinal Pathology (GI). This post is within the department of Cellular Pathology in the Cancer and Associated Specialties division (CAS). This post will be based at the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham.

We are looking for a forward thinking Consultant Histopathologist to join our existing team of 7 committed and enthusiastic consultants who specialise in Gastrointestinal Pathology.

The appointment is full time on a 10 PA contract.

Candidates will be expected to have relevant expertise in GI Pathology.

You are expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching (including supervision, training, assessment and appraisal of specialist registrars and biomedical scientists), clinical audit, research and development. You will work within the multidisciplinary team of Cellular pathology and may also be required to undertake management duties. Participation in the coronial autopsy service is welcome but optional.

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Scientist with experience in Diagnostic Radiology and Radiation Protection. The ideal candidate will hold an MPE and/or RPA certificate(s) or can demonstrate that they can achieve these qualifications within a reasonable timeframe. We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our dynamic and friendly Paediatric Respiratory Therapy team, based at the QMC in the Nottingham Children’s Hospital which is part of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Due to a promotion we have a full time permanent opportunity available (37.5 hours/week) working Monday-Friday.

The post will include exercise provision and in-patient care for CF and acute respiratory. There will be an opportunity to support the Band 7’s in covering CF and respiratory clinics, and respiratory outpatient caseload too as required.
