KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Leadership and Strategic Support
- Support the CEO and Trust Board in achieving strategic objectives and uphold Trust values through visible leadership.
- Provide financial expertise and support in Trust strategic planning, financial strategies, and self-evaluation processes.
- Lead financial planning for new schools and growth initiatives, ensuring smooth integration into Trust systems.

2. Financial Oversight and Compliance
- Oversee and manage the Trust's financial systems, ensuring compliance with Trust policies, ESFA regulations, and financial best practices.
- Provide accurate financial reports, forecasts, and budget projections for the Trust Board, Finance Committee, and stakeholders.
- Lead procurement processes and maintain efficient finance systems to ensure value for money across the Trust.

3. Team Management and Development
- Lead and manage the finance team, including recruitment, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Support Headteachers and finance contributors across the Trust to ensure they meet financial objectives and comply with finance policies.
- Foster a collaborative environment, providing guidance and motivation to drive team effectiveness and continuous improvement.

4. Performance Monitoring and Standards
- Monitor financial performance of Trust academies, identify improvement areas, and ensure actions are taken to support school effectiveness.
- Advise on resource allocation and financial policy changes to support schools in achieving educational goals and financial stability.
- Engage with external agencies, regulatory bodies, and local authorities to enhance Trust performance and compliance.

5. Growth and Development
- Conduct financial due diligence and risk assessments for new or transferring schools, ensuring comprehensive project management and smooth transitions.
- Support resource generation strategies to secure additional funding and resources for Trust development.

6. Financial Systems and Reporting
- Ensure the effectiveness of finance management systems, including budget planning, capital investments, and cash flow management.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly and annual accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Manage compliance with regulatory requirements for audits, VAT, pensions, and financial statements.

7. Stakeholder Relationships and Collaboration
- Develop strong relationships with ESFA, DfE, local authorities, and Trust personnel to promote effective communication and knowledge sharing.
- Provide financial advice and professional accounting expertise to staff, ensuring capability across finance operations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities This post is single site, ward-based, in a busy and dynamic unit, working in a team of consultants, registrar middle grades, core trainees supporting FY1s. On Call Commitment 1 in 20 for General, Urology and Vascular surgery (including weekends and nights). Main Duties and Responsibilities The department offers exposure and training in Laparoscopic Colorectal, Laparoscopic Benign Upper GI Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Urology as well as General Surgery. The successful candidate will work in a team at Northampton General Hospital and is available from December 2024 until April 2025 with an opportunity to extend further for suitable candidates. This post is suited to FY2-CT2 level candidates, who would like further training in general surgery to advance their career and enhance their CV. Specifically, candidates will be supported to obtain core surgical training competencies and MRCS qualifications, in preparation for applying for higher surgical training. This is a service post, but clinical and surgical training will be provided to suit the candidates needs. The post holder may take up a whole time, maximum part time or job share contract. The successful candidate will participate in the General Surgery SHO full shift rota comprising of 12 SHO grades covering Urology, Vascular and General Surgery emergencies. Duties will include the full range of clinical activities, operating lists, outpatient clinics, ward rounds, surgical on call and supporting the emergency theatres. Additionally, successful candidates will be supported in research and audit activity. The Trust has a strong medical education department with regular teaching. The Department of Surgery has ten GI Surgeons, six Vascular Consultants and six Urologists. We provide specialist services including Laparoscopic Oncological Colorectal surgery, Laparoscopic Repair of Complex Hernias, benign Upper GI & hepatobiliary surgery and inflammatory bowel disease surgery including ileo-anal pouch surgery. We additionally perform robotic prostatectomy and rectal surgery using the Da Vinci platform. The vascular services at NGH and KGH were reconfigured in 2012 to form the Northamptonshire Vascular Service. NGH is the centre providing elective arterial surgery, 24/7 emergency vascular surgery and emergency interventional vascular radiology procedures for the patients of Northamptonshire. A Family Group Conference (FGC) is a family led meeting, supported by their wider network in which people come together to plan for a child/ren. The process is supported by an independent and impartial co-ordinator who helps the family prepare.

The role of the Senior is to support the team to deliver the service in line with the organisational strategy and to supervise and support the FGC team in the development and delivery of Northamptonshire Children’s Trust Family Group Conferencing Service. As part of the role the post holder will line manage and deliver supervision to 4 FCG co-ordinators and 1administator.

This role will be required to support families to make realistic, safe, and robust plans for the protection of their children and to enable families to care for their children within their own family and friend’s network.

- Proven experience in supervising or supporting staff to deliver whole family interventions.

- Extensive, hands-on experience in preventative work with children and families facing escalating needs, with demonstrated ability to assess risks, safeguard, and intervene effectively.

Commercial Accountant / Finance Business Partner

Location: Northampton (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Car allowance of £6,600 and excellent benefits

Are you a dynamic and detail-oriented accountant looking to make a significant impact? We are seeking a Commercial Accountant to join our client and take charge of the commercial aspects of their financial reporting. In this role, you will act as a business partner to the operational and management teams, ensuring the business runs efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Partnering: Support project management teams from tender through to completion and provide insights to manufacturing teams on BOM and direct costs.
• Commercial Awareness: Collaborate with sales managers to enhance commercial awareness and review recovery rates and departmental charging mechanisms.
• Performance Analysis: Assist in developing business performance data and analysis for Directors and Managers, and develop customer profitability analysis.
• Margin Improvement: Identify and communicate opportunities to increase margins and provide clear, accurate management information on commercial performance.
• Financial Modelling: Develop cashflow modelling for projects and key business activities, and assist in sales pipeline reporting.
• Reporting & Forecasting: Work alongside FPAM and CFO to improve the quality of analysis in monthly reporting and forecast preparation.
• Problem Solving: Proactively identify business issues that hinder financial projections and prepare ad hoc financial models and business cases.
• Travel: National and international travel as required.

What We're Looking For:

• Qualifications: CIMA or ACCA qualified.
• Technical Skills: Strong intermediate Excel skills and experience with costing in a complex ERP environment, particularly SAP ERP.
• Experience: Proven experience in preparing management accounts, forecasts, and business analysis.
