Overview

Highland Cinema is looking for an experienced, capable and enthusiastic Administration & Finance Manager to join as one of our key Senior Managers. In this exciting role, you will work closely with the existing Senior Management Team and Duty Managers to help maintain, shape and improve all aspects of our operation. The successful candidate will be involved in many aspects of day-to-day office management and the running of the cinema and café bar operations. The position offers excellent rates of pay and incentives.

Duties and responsibilities

• To support the General Manager and their Deputies at a senior level.
• To handle all day-to-day aspects of finances and bookkeeping for Highland Cinema.
• To compile and pay purchase invoices on a weekly basis.
• To deal with company mail and emails on a daily basis.
• To issue sales invoices and chase late payments for events and private bookings.
• To coordinate all cash handling and maintain records in an accurate manner.
• To reconcile all credit card transactions and other receipts.
• To complete daily, weekly and monthly sales and cash reports for Management.
• To complete the quarterly VAT submissions.
• To submit and pay PAYE via Government Gateway.
• To compile and maintain staff records and hours/holiday periods/sickness for the Payroll procedure.
• To account for and operate as the ‘Tronc Master’ for the tips for the staff in a timely manner, as agreed with the General Manager.
• To schedule and minute managerial meetings as required and issue the minutes, also at this time to produce a brief all staff email with relevant information to keep them informed.
• To deputise for the General Manager in their absence.
• To assist the General Manager with any HR issues arising and issue HR documents.
• To maintain and update two Point of Sale database systems.

Essential experience and competencies

• Experience of bookkeeping software. Currently we use Xero and Google Workspace.
• Experience working in a financial role, with budgetary and negotiation skills.
• Must be detail orientated with strong organisational skills.
• Able to ensure that in all matters the Highland Cinema is represented professionally and positively.
• Experience of working in a collaborative team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure to time scales and targets.
• Self-motivated, able to work autonomously, use own initiative and engage and assist the team in a variety of diverse activities.
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, suppliers and customers.
• A good working knowledge of equal opportunities, and an understanding

The opportunity

The Application Specialist’s role is to define, develop, test, analyze, install and maintain new software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements.  This includes application installation and configuration, writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications.  This role will perform technology as well as research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.  Additionally, this role provides support for system issues, application and web services, vendor relationship, coordinates development and support many components of application portfolio.

The opportunity

Canadian Western Bank (CWB) is seeking a dedicated and motivated AVP, Model Validation to grow our Risk Services team. The successful candidate will be critical in developing and accomplishing CWB’s second line of defense model risk management function.  Validating or reviewing models currently being used or may be used within the operations of the organization. Working closely with the Senior AVP, Model Governance and Validation, this position will also support in leading team projects and establishing relationships throughout the organization.

Areas of focus

• Conduct detailed validation of sophisticated financial models including risk, pricing, and valuation models. Such as AIRB, ICAAP, IFRS-9, credit adjudication, treasury, asset valuation, fraud and AML/ATF models.

• Lead and supervise validation projects that require multi-resource involvement and ensure high quality model validation are delivered within timelines.

• Assess model performance and stability through back-testing, stress testing and sensitivity analysis.

• Review model documentation to ensure transparency, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Benchmark models at CWB to peers as suitable to ensure models are within common industry practices.

• Collaborate with model developers, risk managers and other partners to address any identified issues or deficiencies.

• Keep abreast of industry standard methodologies, regulatory guidelines, and emerging trends in quantitative finance.

• Provide professional mentorship and guidance to partners in model regulation requirements and CWB’s model risk management principles, requirements, and process.

Successful incumbent

• Master’s or PhD degree in Math/Math Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or other compatible programs is required.

• CFA or FRM Credential is an asset.

• Seven (7) years proven experience in model development, model validation or relevant areas.

• Five (5) years demonstrated ability in credit risk modeling.  Experience in both wholesale credit and retail credit is an asset.

• Experience mentoring individuals throughout an organization.

• Experience in data management and assessment.

• Experience in regulatory reviews on model risks, capital requirements, or financial crime detection.

The opportunity

The Equipment Finance Co-Op Student opportunity provides a unique experience where you will be able to showcase your education while making a real & direct impact on our sales strategy. Working with the Sales Strategy Leader, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and shape recommendations through market & competitive research, data & financial analysis, training development, and insights & trend identification. If you have a love of numbers, are curious by nature & are a creative problem solver, this is a real opportunity to test yourself & contribute to a growing sales team!

What you'll be doing

Research. Analysis. Recommendations. Driving sales through data. Team & client support.

• Engaging, interaction & information confirmation. Connect with vendors and clients, for timely loan funding with accurate information.

• Project research & analysis. Research products, tools, competitors, and internal processes to identify potential improvements.

• Financial analysis. Analyze client financial statements and market sectors to understand beneficial market trends.

• Data analysis. Analyze and build sales trends, sales forecasts, and portfolio growth & runoff reports, using various tools (i.e., salesforce.com and Power BI) for recommendations.

• Data entry & calculations. Help complete risk scorecards and return on capital (RoC) worksheets for data integrity and risk-based returns by Business Development Managers.

• Training. Assist with building and launching training courses using various tools for impactful presentation.

• Correspondence & documentation. Draft internal sales documents based on data analysis review, external communications (incl. for clients), maintain sales prospect profiles and other reporting.

• Reporting. Prepare, distribute, and complete business management and performance reports ensuring follow-up actions.

• Learning. Continuously identify trends, growing your knowledge to achieve success for you and your team.

You have administrative experience & operational knowledge built on some formal education (pursuing degree/diploma in a business/finance related field).
