CLINICAL

We are seeking an Senior Engineer at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust to work within the local hospital desktop support team but will act as a senior member alongside the Principal Desktop engineer reporting into the Desktop Team Manager.

You will assess, implement and support complex desktop and networking requests and incidents end to end delivering request and end user needs.

You will inspire technical excellence, leading and driving service standards while supporting all internal and external users and a number external third party suppliers.

The position is a blend of technical desktop support and basic network communications support. Having the skillset and experience to liaise, triage and fulfil requests, which require this skillset. The Trust is responding to a significantly high volume of service transitions and equipment moves to new non-Trust geographic sites, which need to be received, understood, and have technical expertise for a recommendation as an output. The request will then need implementing alongside the project support coordinating the programme of service relocations.

Key relationships with Digital Service staff for asset management, network support team, stock control, good receiving and other reasonable responsibilities.
• Assess technical requirements for enabling IT Services on remote sites whilst appreciating the complex multiple domain and physical network environment across hospital and private sites.
• Responsible for ensuring that all Incidents and Requests are dealt with by the support team in a timely manner and within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Engineers in the team will be expected to load balance working on local site requests and requests that can be resolved remotely from other sites when required to do so. The principal engineer alongside the Desktop Support Manager will monitor and organise this within the team.
• To organise and participate in the maintenance for all hardware and software under the guidance of the Desktop support Manager and or Head of Digital Operations.
• To manage and participate in the provision of a 24 hour a day, 365 day a year support function to the Trust for which an on-call allowance is paid.
• The individual must be prepared to travel, possibly with equipment, to various locations at short notice and should, therefore, have a Full UK Driving Licence.

We are seeking to recruit a substantive Consultant Older Adult Psychiatrist to work with the teams in Lancaster and Morecambe. The post is full time and the postholder will support the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team (RITT) and Memory Assessment Service (MAS).

There will be an expectation to join the Consultant On Call rota, for which additional remuneration is payable.

The clinical component of the post is focused on the care of the patients referred to the Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team, Community Mental Health Team and Memory Assessment Service with work base in Morecambe and/or Lancaster as will be agreed during job planning.

Applicants should hold full GMC registration and be included on the Specialist register of the GMC or they should be eligible for entry to the Specialist Register within 6 months of the interview date.

It is a requirement that applicants are Section 12 Approved at the time of commencing employment and have or are eligible to have Approved Clinician Status. Remuneration will be as set out in the terms of the New Consultant Contract according to previous experience.

KEY DUTIES
• To provide 1st line technical support for all partners and customers of Mid Mersey Digital Alliance on a rota to cover 24 x 7 working (including weekend and bank holidays) as part of an out of hours support team.
• Responsible for call answering on the IT Service Desk, monitoring calls logged through the ITSM self-service portal, and the recording of all Incidents and Requests with the appropriate information, prioritisation and classification.
• Responsible for first line resolution of incidents which includes initial diagnosis of software or hardware issues, identifying the solution and if required performing minor system changes as required.
• To allocate and escalate unresolved Incidents to other resolving groups to ensure that there is timely management of incidents in line with SLA.
• Strong knowledge of all hardware components, and all associated system software tools.
• Responsible for upholding a professional relationship with internal and external clients.

• Provide support as delegated with regards to the installations of key developments of new system infrastructure.

• To take part in staffing a central booking system to ensure an efficient approach to appointment management, to include the preparation and arrangement of appointments, including inputting of referrals ensuring all clerical work resulting is dealt with in a timely manner.

• To display and ensure availability of information resources at reception with an adequate and attractive display to include distribution and collation of all patient surveys.
