Compensation Range

Hourly: $17.00 - $21.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

Essential Functions

• Provide a high level of customer service and support to external customers

• Support inquiries received via live chat, email or telephone

• Authenticate callers to ensure our customers and the bank are protected from fraud attempts and take additional steps to mitigate risk if needed

• Research information and complete data entry to note customer interaction results

• Remain current with product knowledge and administrative requirements through training

Work Schedule:

• 1:30pm - 10:00pm, Monday - Friday and every other Saturday, or

We are currently seeking two Finance Business Partners to join our Service Charges team on a temporary basis.

We have one fixed term contract available until 31st October 24 and another until 31st December 24.

This is the perfect time to join us on our transformation journey to provide a truly modern finance function, helping to support our ambition to build more homes and invest in our existing properties.

As we undertake exciting transformation projects, we need your expertise to assist in the delivery of the Service Charge accounting process and ensure the accurate setting of service charges in alignment with group policies.

This role is dynamic and involves overseeing the team of Assistant Accountants and Finance Assistants to provide financial and management accounting information to the Group. You will work closely with Housing Operations to provide financial accounting information to residents and help shape policy in this area.

In addition you will be pivotal in supporting and assisting budget holders in achieving value for money.

Some of the things we are looking for:

A Qualified Accountant with at least 2 years’ experience, including a minimum of 1 years at a team leader level or equivalent
Experience in service charges or accounting in a large and complex organisation or a regulated organisation with substantial budgets
Experience of leading and supporting a finance team
Experience of completing primary accounting statements
Experience of developing and delivering an excellent customer driven service to differing audiences and stakeholders
Good knowledge and understanding of Service Charges legislation would be desirable
While this role is home-based, occasional travel to our Group Offices in Birmingham Business Park, Solihull, or Central Park, Worcester, will be required. I am working with a well renowned public sector employer, offering up to 3 days working from home, to find a temporary finance professional with accounts experience. This is a large organisation whose work spans across NI and they are entering a busy time of year which is why they are keen to find a temporary candidate to support them for 12 months initially with the possibility to extend.

Your new role

This role involves processing payroll but is much more varied, including supporting with month-end procedures, processing transactional finance and assisting with internal and external audits. This position is perfect for someone keen to get a wide range of experience across finance in a public sector setting. While the role is initially 6 months temporary, there may be scope to extend this.

We are delighted to be working with a client who is seeking a Guidewire ClaimsCenter developer to join their team and contribute to the development, support, and maintenance of their Guidewire ClaimsCenter application. You will be responsible for all parts of the software development life cycle, from gathering requirements to deploying working software. You will also mentor and assist other developers, and be actively involved in solutioning, designing, testing, debugging, and maintaining GOSU language application code in Guidewire ClaimsCenter.
To be successful in this role, you will need:

• 7 plus years of experience in Guidewire ClaimsCenter product customization/configuration, designing and building interfaces to external systems.
• Ability to configure PCFs & Gosu, Rules management, plug-in development, and third-party software integrations using SOAP/REST APIs, XML, JSon etc.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ability to debug system issues and resolve defects.
• Experience of handling and engaging vendors and being able to connect and communicate effectively with Architects to present research findings and analysis to make recommendations.
• Exposure to public cloud environment (AWS), process and tools
• Experience creating and consuming Web Services using SOAP protocol in Guidewire.
• Experience using Maven to build applications, and Continuous Integration tools to automate code testing.
• Experience with the design, development, modification, and deployment of software using design standards and best practices.
• Thorough knowledge in various technical domains of application development; understanding of development methodologies and the full Software Development Life Cycle of applications.
• Use of common programming tools demonstrated ability to follow software specifications and the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel of Business and IT teams.

Additionally, it would be nice if you have:

• Knowledge or experience in Property and Casualty Insurance
• Knowledge or experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter and BillingsCenter.
• Understanding of various Design patterns and Solution Architectures
• Knowledge of J2EE technologies
• Knowledge of Profiling tools (JProfiler, YourKit, etc.)

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $100,500.00 - $157,000.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to be responsible for legal and regulatory advice and guidance on trust administration including private client trust administration and institutional trust administration.  Position will provide support to advisors and trust professionals on estate planning, tax and wealth management issues.  Trust Counsel is expected to support the responsible growth objectives of the organization by identifying legal risks as well as practical risk-mitigating solutions.

Essential Functions

• Collaborate with client teams to create innovative solutions that mitigate risk; assess and advise of risks associated with the administration of private trusts, institutional trusts, and estates

• Review estate plan documents in which Commerce Trust is appointed as a trustee or executor, evaluate the ability of Commerce to administer the trust or estate, and provide a recommendation on acceptance or declination of appointment

• Draft and review standard business forms such as sales/listing agreements, trust acceptance/resignation/declination

• Provide counsel on all matters relating to fiduciary duties and discretion including but not limited to distributions, loans and pledges, trust terminations, employee benefit and endowment plans and specialty asset administration

• Attend various internal committees, assist with preparation of materials as needed, become familiar with legal risks and formulate recommendations for consideration

• Work in partnership with the internal tax group to identify and monitor tax matters pertaining to income tax (including capital gains), estate tax, and gift tax, and charitable trusts (including private foundations) related to the administration of trust and/or estate accounts and review tax filings including but not limited to Forms 706, 709, 990, 1040, and 1041 to understand assets comprising a decedent’s estate and the fundings of trusts resulting from a decedent’s estate

• Advise the Special Assets team with the administration of, including the sale or transfer of, real estate or closely-held entities (such as closely held corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies) in trust and estate accounts

• Interpret and help Commerce Trust teams to apply fiduciary policies, procedures and related governance protocols

• Author memorandums for internal use on technical topics relating to trust and estate administration; deliver training presentations to internal personnel on an as-needed basis on matters related to trusts and estate developments and other fiduciary administration topics

• Select and oversee outside counsel in matters pertaining to fiduciary litigation or representation of the Bank  

• Perform other duties as assigned that support the strategic goals of the organization

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• In-depth knowledge of commonly used estate planning, gifting and tax planning principles

• In-depth knowledge of federal and state estate and tax laws including the Prudent Investor Act, Uniform Trust Code, Uniform Fiduciary Principal and Income Act

• In-depth knowledge of fiduciary income tax; federal and state estate and gift tax, and taxation of non-profit or tax-exempt entities, including ERISA prohibited transaction rules 

• Ability and desire to stay up-to-date on changes in applicable state and federal laws and regulations affecting trust administration

• Ability to read and interpret private trusts and employee benefit documents written at the most sophisticated levels 

• Ability to draft or review real estate documents including deeds, sale contracts and commercial leases

• Ability to negotiate terms of contracts and leases to mitigate risk

• Ability to draft or review corporate documents including bylaws, operating agreements, partnership agreements, assignment of interest, and corporate resolutions 

• Ability to recognize and evaluate business and legal risks, and advocate for innovative solutions

• Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a bias toward action.

Education & Experience

• Juris Doctor Degree required

• 3+ years legal experience required

• Law firm or in-house experience for a fiduciary services company preferred

• Active status bar license from Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Texas required
