The Community respiratory service are seeking an Advanced Clinical Practitioner for the role of Clinical lead within the Community Respiratory service.
The service provides COPD, Home oxygen, Pulmonary rehab, respiratory physio and virtual ward for adults in North East Essex.
This is an exciting time to join the service as we are working towards accreditation of our Pulmonary rehab service, and onging development of virtual wards and closer working with our system partners.
You should be an ACP already (however we will consider those who have completed masters degrees, but need to complete the APEL route for ACP) with extensive knowledge and skill in respiratory care, ideally including community based.
You must have independent prescriber qualification.
Ideally you should also have competencies in home oxygen assessment and prescription as well as Pulmonary rehabilitation.
In addition to clinical work, as the clinical lead you will be required to line manage staff, so experience in leadership and management is desirable.

As an ACP you will use a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making alongside demonstrating the four pillars of practice, Clinical Practice, Leadership and Management, Education and Research in providing healthcare that enables innovative solutions to enhance experience and improve outcomes within respiratory.
You will provide professional leadership, clinical expertise and manage a caseload of respiratory patients within the community respiratory service.
As clinical lead and an ACP you will be expected to work in partnership with primary and secondary care colleagues and other agencies to secure a smooth patient journey across the whole patient pathway. Self-care will be encouraged and patients and carers will be actively involved in the development of their care plan and the management of their condition.
You will line manage members of the Community respiratory team.
The ACP is accountable for independent clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice. In addition to this the ACP is also responsible for appropriately referring patients to relevant specialities for any necessary inpatient or outpatient investigations as well as facilitating safe patient discharge.
