SWFT Clinical Services To support the Senior Commercial Finance Manager in communicating andinterpreting complex and sometimes sensitive financial information, providingadvice and support to the Company Finance Director and Managing Director,meeting regularly with members of the operational management team toensure that the financial position of the Company and the Trust is understood and that any potential financial problems are identified early enough for corrective action to be taken. Assisting the Senior Commercial Finance Manager in the completion of theBoard report. Liaising with operational budget holders and providing specialist financialguidance and detailed advice on actual income/expenditure or budgets within the Company. Analyse complex financial information, reviewing and explaining trends and assumptions to operational managers and Directors. Responsible for the day to day financial management and performance of the Company. Line management of the finance assistant and senior financeassistant in the Company. Oversight in collating monthly payroll information including expenses andtimesheets. Send the relevant information promptly to Payroll provider and by the agreed monthly timescales to allow timely staff payment. Liaise with payroll provider to resolve pay queries or discrepancies. Oversight of the Finance Assistant in monitoring and control of outstanding debt collection, including monthly review of outstanding debtors and authorisingreceipting batches on the ledger. Ensure debtor control procedures are beingcorrectly followed. Make recommendations to write off debts based on an assessment of all known factors, to optimise cash inflows and ensure the accuracy of outstanding debts. Monthly reconciliation of receipting to cashbook. Being the first point of contact for the escalation of any financial queries with suppliers or customers. Ensuring the completion of control account reconciliations in the Company. Undertaking monthly and quarterly MSFA and pharmacy contractreconciliations between the Company and the Trust. Ensuring monthly reporting of this information is correct in the Companys accounts. Development of new business streams and business cases within in theCompany. This would include the provision of guidance to non-financial staffand the interpretation of complex financial information, assumptions and trend analysis. Responsible for the smooth introduction of any new financial accountingsoftware and the development of any new spreadsheets required for the day to day running of the Company Responsible for the design (where applicable for the Company) andimplementation of new financial processes and procedures as required with thesupport of the Senior Commercial Finance Manager. Work with the Senior Commercial Finance Manager in producing theCompanys annual budget setting process incorporating any longer term plans. Preparation of the audit papers to support the statutory accounts and will be the initial point of contact during the audit of the Company. Supporting the Senior Commercial Finance Manager in the production of the Companys annual statutory accounts. The Trust Undertaking monthly and quarterly MSFA and pharmacy contractreconciliations between the Company and the Trust, ensuring monthly reporting of this information is correct in the Trusts accounts. Together with the relevant Deputy Finance Manager be responsible forcalculating and posting the monthly stock adjustment journals through theCompany and Trust ledgers. Responsibility for undertaking a number of monthly control code reconciliations (e.g. car park takings and JAC drug system to general ledger). This includes the analysis of outstanding balances within the balance sheet and the investigation and resolution of any discrepancies identified. Provide the necessary finance process support in the Trusts private healthcare facilities e.g. Grafton Suite Any other duties as commensurate with the grade of the post.

What will the Finance Director role involve?

• Partnering with the Managing Director to monitor and develop the Business Plan and drive growth and performance of the business. Developing long term strategic plans and ensuring funding requirements are forecast and managed appropriately to achieve the plans set.

• In conjunction with Senior Management, drive improvements to financial reporting across the Company to improve the visibility, integrity and analysis of key data, giving a clear overview of business performance and liabilities fuelling commercial decision making and strategic planning discussions.

• The production of strategic financial analysis and recommendations on ways to reduce costs, increase profits and generate shareholder value.

• Develop close work relationships with Heads of Departments to improve job costing/budgets, sales pricing, accuracy of forecasts and WIP management.

• Managing & developing robust financial systems and controls throughout the business.

• Overall responsibility for the production end of year accounts and leading communications with external advisors with regards to audit, tax and ensuring compliance with all the reporting to relevant authorities.

The Histology laboratories at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire and South Warwick Foundation trust are looking for a full time BMA to join our team. We have full UKAS ISO15189 accreditation.

Previous Laboratory experience would be an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given.

This is not a trainee BMS role. We only offer IBMS Registration portfolio training to colleagues in Trainee BMS roles.

The role will include duties as required, such as registering cases onto the laboratory information system, microscope slide and tissue block filing, receipt, unpacking, checking and labelling of diagnostic samples and dealing with telephone enquiries, receiving stock deliveries and unloading these into the storage areas, removal of waste into storage areas, microtomy, embedding, collating cases for meetings, daily and weekly laboratory equipment cleaning/maintenance and retrieval of blocks/slides from storage.

You will be working under supervision and according to Standard Operative Procedures performing an extended range of technical support duties within the laboratory; predominantly supporting Biomedical Scientist staff within the team to facilitate optimal patient care.

Main Duties/ Responsibilities

7. Preparation of basic confirmatory/supplementary work to support BMS staff, but will exclude unsupervised interpretive tasks.
8. Responsible for the dispatching and posting of samples to authorised persons and outside laboratories ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations.
9. Undertake agreed clinical and non-clinical tasks following training ensuring referral to appropriately trained staff as required.
10. Participate in the training and support less experienced members of staff in their orientation to the department and role.
11. Act as the first contact point for routine daily maintenance problems on analysers.
12. To participate in appraisals and personal reviews and to work to achieve personal objectives.
13. Operate and perform maintenance on a range of manual, semi automated and fully automated laboratory equipment and analysers.
14. At all times work according to policies and Standard Operative Procedures and bring to the attention of scientific staff any changes in practices.
15. Promote and monitor adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from known hazards.
16. Adhere to correct laboratory procedures following accidents, injuries, spillages and breakages and ensure that these are reported to the appropriate officer.
17. When problems arise know when to refer to senior and medical staff as appropriate.
18. Schedule workload to comply with demands of laboratory workflow, adjusting in reaction to urgent specimens, telephone enquiries and requests from medical and scientific staff.
19. Process specimens ensuring accuracy of labelling and any measurements/pipetting required.
20. Responsible for receiving and checking deliveries.
21. To communicate appropriate patient results to those authorised to receive them and to refer to clinical and scientific staff when required.
