An exciting opportunity has arisen to work psychologically as either a qualifiedClinical or Counselling Psychologist or highly experienced Family or CBT or CBT for Psychosis therapistwith those who are at risk of developing symptoms of psychosis under the umbrella of our First Episode Psychosis (FEP) Team in North West Essex, working across the Harlow, Stansted, Loughton and Epping areas. This type of role, known as working with those with anARMS (At Risk Mental State), focusses on working with individuals assessed to be at risk of developingpsychosis. It is an exciting new area of the service, and this new post has been made available due to increased funding which will enable us to further develop the service to include offering psychological interventions. There are many opportunities for innovation and shaping the future of how the ARMS service evolves.

As a specialist mental health approach, ARMS is based on NICE-recommended interventions which include comprehensive assessment and psychological interventions for psychosis or co-existing mental health needs. These activities are often supported with family interventions, recovery coordination, social and education/employment support. Psychological therapists are an integral part of the EIP multi-disciplinary team.

We also welcome applications from newly qualified Clinical Psychologists, offering Band 7/8a preceptorships.

There are strong links between the EIP teams across the trust and also with the East of England Regional Network. Psychologists are supported and encouraged to pursue further training, with people recently trained in CBTp and FIp (including supervision training), EMDR, ACT and CAT.

As a Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or highly experienced Family or CBT/CBTp therapist, you would work autonomously within professional guidelines to provide a high quality specialist psychology service to service users, their families, and other professionals/services involved in the life and care of service users. Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.

All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

Manage and oversee management and care of service users with highly complex needs and who might be difficult to engage with services.

Produce accurate and timely documentation

Conduct, supervise and oversee risk assessments of the individual highly complex cases and the potential hazards in the service user’s environment

Provide professional clinical leadership at multi-disciplinary meetings

Act as a care coordinator in highly complex cases

Provide education and support to develop service user’s understanding of mental illness and training packages for staff

Provide psycho-social intervention, education and support to develop service users understanding of mental illness with aim to prevent relapse and admission

Provide specialist assessment and intervention commensurate with skills and training with colleagues where required

Undertake physical health checks of service users and ensure team act on the findings appropriately

Understand and utilise Health and Social Care commissioned services, demonstrating an empathetic approach of Fairer Access to Care Services

Provide clinical leadership and professional expertise to the team

Work closely with and assist the Clinical Manager with development and implementation of operational / clinical policies contributing to the formulation and review of appropriate policies

Deliver training where appropriate for other professionals

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work psychologically as either a qualifiedClinical or Counselling Psychologist or highly experienced Family or CBT or CBT for Psychosis therapistwith those who are at risk of developing symptoms of psychosis under the umbrella of our First Episode Psychosis (FEP) Team in North West Essex, working across the Harlow, Stansted, Loughton and Epping areas. This type of role, known as working with those with anARMS (At Risk Mental State), focusses on working with individuals assessed to be at risk of developingpsychosis. It is an exciting new area of the service, and this new post has been made available due to increased funding which will enable us to further develop the service to include offering psychological interventions. There are many opportunities for innovation and shaping the future of how the ARMS service evolves.

As a specialist mental health approach, ARMS is based on NICE-recommended interventions which include comprehensive assessment and psychological interventions for psychosis or co-existing mental health needs. These activities are often supported with family interventions, recovery coordination, social and education/employment support. Psychological therapists are an integral part of the EIP multi-disciplinary team.

We also welcome applications from newly qualified Clinical Psychologists, offering Band 7/8a preceptorships.

There are strong links between the EIP teams across the trust and also with the East of England Regional Network. Psychologists are supported and encouraged to pursue further training, with people recently trained in CBTp and FIp (including supervision training), EMDR, ACT and CAT.

As a Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or highly experienced Family or CBT/CBTp therapist, you would work autonomously within professional guidelines to provide a high quality specialist psychology service to service users, their families, and other professionals/services involved in the life and care of service users. To ensure that effective, tailored, evidence based psychological assessments and interventions are underpinned by evidence based practice, NICE guidance, and DH guidance.

• To provide specialist therapy consultation clinics and training with the aim of psychosis prevention. To build strong networks with local community organisations, health and education providers to develop knowledge and skills in working with people who are considered to be at risk of developing psychosis.
• To provide assessments of service users, utilising information from primary and secondary health care contacts as well as direct contact with the service user.
• Where indicated to utilise complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care. The post-holder will also be responsible for the safe use of any equipment used during assessments (e.g. test batteries).
• To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client's mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client's problems, employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range settings.
• Supervision of psychological therapists and leading on psychological interventions in the ARMS team.
