Here at the Recruitment Co we are currently recruiting a Credit Controller to work for a client of ours based in Cardiff Bay. This is a hybrid role where you work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

You don't need any previous experience but you do need some previous customer service/admin experience.

Main Job roles:

• Recoveries (insured clients) & Collections (uninsured clients) Responsible for the recovery of monies owed to clients in respect of credit-insured transactions, bonds and of uninsured debts placed for collections.
• Activities include direct debt chasing as well as liaison with 3rd party debt collectors, legal representatives and/or administrators/receivers.
• Responsible for contacting debtors by telephone in order to successfully collect on the debt that they owe
• Responsible for the improvement of collection processes and results; reduce time to collection; decrease operating expense and/or Schedules reminder calls or escalates process; including a final notification that outlines next step if payment is not received.
• Make follow-up communications a priority to ensure that customers keep their commitments.
• Responsible for managing a portfolio of debts, implementing the agreed processes and systems to achieve desired goals and results.
• Owning and maintaining the day-to-day relationship with client, debtors and 3rd parties including negotiation over recommended action.
• Assess the cost effectiveness of taking legal action and prepare suitable cases for transfer to the in house legal team or external parties.
• Will respond to customer queries on both standard and non-standard issues, ensuring a full investigation is completed to answer the customer query in full.
• You may become involved in group projects, providing input and local technical knowledge to support the project group.

Required experience:

• Previous Credit Control experience is essential
• Good communication skills both verbal and written. In addition will demonstrate the ability to present information clearly and Will identify technical information communicate this in a style appropriate to the audience.

Candidate Requirements

To be selected for interview, you are / have

- A Qualified accountant with any of ACCA, CIMA, ACA. CCAB with c.1-5 years experience

- Working knowledge of Dynamics 365 F&O as a management accountant, or experience in a similar role and systems

- Exposure to large-scale finance system transformations

- Strong finance process understanding (management accounting cycle, P2P, bank reconciliations, intercompany accounting etc) with experience in demands faced by a large global company and its financial reporting process (including the necessary process controls)

- Experience of clearly articulating process, data and system problems, and their impacts, to finance and non-finance people

- Ability to organise, co-ordinate and prioritise change initiatives and influence related workstreams

Monitoring & Reporting Responsible for supporting specific Directorates/Divisions budgets. Monitor performance against budgets, analysing and reporting on income & expenditure variances and contribute to the drawing up of department/ service budgets. System Maintenance and Development Maintain and develop computerised/ IT financial information systems, such as income and expenditure tracking systems for PHW budget holders and the PHW finance team. Responsible for advising budget holders on policies and procedures. Maintain any Directorate/Division computerised databases ensuring monthly costs are correct in the general ledger. Regular requirement to use computerised systems to create statistical reports based on financial formulae. Corporate Financial Strategy Prepare annual budgets for various PHW teams for inclusion in the Integrated Medium Term plan (IMTP) and the annual Budget Strategy. Provide business planning advice to budget holders, including advice on a range of facts and situations and any options open to them. Meet with budget holders, as required, to negotiate their staff and non-staff budgets for the year, taking into account the operational needs of the budget holder and balancing that with the overall funding limit of the division. Ensure the approved budgets are accurately reflected in the Financial System by developing control schedules. Costing Prepare and review costed establishments and budget proposals and provide sound technical financial advice for financial plans and business cases. Providing support to the Financial Reporting and Control team for all statutory and ad-hoc costing returns ensuring costing methodologies are sound and consistent. Liaise with budget holders and other staff to collect and analyse information about costs. Providing costing support for new grants or business cases when required. Ad hoc costing as and when required. Co-ordinate the production of any statutory and ad-hoc costing returns e.g. for Grants and Awards ensuring costing methodologies are sound and consistent. Liaise with budget holders and other staff to collect and analyse information about costs. Communication Develop relationships and regularly liaise with Public Health Wales senior managers and budget holders and external customers like ECDC, WG and other Trusts/health boards in order to provide them with complex/sensitive financial information requiring negotiation and re-assurance. Has discretion to work within a defined set of parameters as recognised specialist in own area. Provide specialist advice, guidance and budget holder training to non-finance staff on a regular basis. Other Ensure the integrity of all financial data. Plan and organise own workload schedule based on experience.
