The Role
As a Senior Finance Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Working alongside a Line of Business Management Team with accountability for supporting and managing the delivery and maximisation of the financial performance for a portfolio of Babcock Rail Contracts.
Day-to-day, you'll be ensuring robust financial controls, strong corporate governance, production of timely and meaningful financial analysis and continuous improvement of financial processes:
- Work with the Line of Business management team in assuring and enhancing the processes used to operate and control performance.
- Lead and develop a project finance team to provide high quality business partnering support to the line of business management and contract project teams.
- Ensuring financial targets are delivered or exceeded wherever possible including the successful tender and conversion of Framework delivery, Rebids and Re-lets.
- Identify, drive and deliver continuous improvements to the financial processes, procedures and operating practices.
- Ensure the Line of Business fiance team are appropriately resourced and managed to deliver effectively.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and requires regular travel to Belfast on a weekly basis alongside home working arrangements.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential Experience of the Senior Finance Manager:
- Demonstratable experience in a construction / project-based environment.
- Strong business / process analysis and modelling skills including bid and tender production and review.
- Ability to assess business risks, issues and mitigating actions, with experience of implementing such actions.
- Effective line management capability with a proven track record for maximising team delivery and output
- Experience of working with Commercial and Project Operational teams.
Qualifications for the Senior Finance Manager:
- You must hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent / similar.
