This exciting role will see you providing administration support to the senior service delivery leadership team, helping them to provide leadership to our amazing team. Working from a main base, but expected to support at locations across the region, you will offer direct administration support to the Area Director, the Head of Operations, the Consultant Paramedic and their respective teams, enabling them to deliver the best possible service to the public.

You will have fantastic administration and organising skills, be a confident communicator, proficient in the Microsoft Office packages and be adept and learning bespoke software systems. You will be confident in handling sensitive information and understand the importance of confidentiality and information governance. You will be a great team player and have the skills and competencies to work in this exciting but demanding role.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Job Purpose

I am currently recruiting a Finance Officer to join a local authority on a temporary basis to cover a secondment. This role is ideal for someone with local authority experience, particularly in supporting engineering and town centre regeneration projects. The successful candidate will be part of an 8-person team, working closely with budget holders to manage both revenue and capital budgets effectively.

This is an excellent development opportunity for anyone wanting to broaden their experience and be involved in a number of high profile pieces of work over the coming months. The role would be supporting on both revenue and capital aspects of the budget and will play an important role in supporting budget holders to move to self service over the coming months.

Main responsibilities

• Provide financial management and business planning advice to management, and clients.
• Contribute to financial reporting that meets corporate governance and client needs.
• Support managers in monitoring budgets, identifying variances, and advising on corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with financial rules, accounting practices, and legislation.

This role is a long-term contract role for 14 months.

Main Duties:
