The EKHUFT Occupational Health (OH) team is responsible for the OH service delivery for all EKHUFT employees and contracted services, including a number of external organisations of other NHS, small and medium-sized business enterprises.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Head, Neck, Breast & Dermatology Care Group. The successful applicant will work between the sites of William Harvey Hospital, Kent & Canterbury Hospital and Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother Hospital.

You will work as part of a team with the existing 7 Consultants and other staff within the department.

The successful applicant will be required to work flexibly within this team structure and participate in a 1:6 2nd on call rota.

You must have full registration with the General Dental Council and be in possession of Bachelor of Dental Surgery, or equivalent and preferably a postgraduate qualification e.g. FDS, MFDS, MJDF. In addition, you will be expected to have experience at SHO or DCT level in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and be competent in Minor Oral Surgery.

This is a Speciality Doctor in Oral and Maxillofacial post, whole time, based at William Harvey Hospital, but with split duties at Kent & Canterbury Hospital. On-call duties will be at the William Harvey Hospital which is the Kent Centre for oral and maxillofacial surgery serving a population of 720,000.

The Oral and Maxillofacial department is accommodated in modern premises and the Unit provides a comprehensive service for medical and surgical problems involving the mouth, jaws, face, neck and supporting structures. It provides a service for maxillofacial trauma, head and neck oncology and its reconstruction, facial deformity, temporomandibular joint surgery, implantology dentoalveolar surgery. The Unit has an active interest in undergraduate and postgraduate education and is involved in clinical research. Particular interest has been taken in supporting the development of all staff and good links and exchanges of trainees from other countries have been developed as a result.

The Unit works in close co-operation with its other medical and dental colleagues.

This post is up to a maximum of 12 sessions inclusive of 2nd on call on a 1:6 rota with Speciality Registrars and other Speciality Doctors. The appointee will also normally be expected to have MJDF, MFDS, or FDS.

The Anaesthetic Department at the William Harvey Hospital is looking to recruit a dynamic and conscientious individual to join our team of dedicated clinicians.
William Harvey Hospital is a large district general hospital providing care for the diverse population across East Kent. The hospital provides surgical services for the regional head and neck cancer service, colorectal cancer and other specialties, including gynae, ENT, trauma surgery, breast, paediatric and ophthalmology. There is also a 24-hour pPCI cardiology service. We are a leading level 2 trauma unit and have a busy obstetric unit with 4000 deliveries a year.
Vascular and urology services are based at Canterbury. Most elective Orthopaedic services for the trust are now provided at the state-of-the-art Elective Orthopaedic Centre in Canterbury. There is a well-established preassessment service providing support for all surgical specialties.

The successful applicant will be expected to provide safe, anaesthetic care for a variety of surgical lists at William Harvey Hospital with an opportunity to work on other Trust sites, based on personal experience, preference and the clinical needs of the William Harvey department.

Anaesthetic services are provided for elective and emergency surgery in the main operating theatre complex of 8 theatres. In addition, there are 4 day-surgery theatres.

We will work with you to shape the ideal job plan upon successful appointment, and review it with you after three months and then annually – so you can keep the perfect fit. We will also provide the essential resources to support you in your duties, including administrative support.

Insurance Administrator

We have an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent customer service to carry out administrative duties for our client, who is an established household name in insurance. This is a full time role based in Ashford, however may be expected to cover sickness/holiday at Whitfield and Tenterden, so will need to be able to drive. You will be working a 35 hour a week (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with an hour for lunch). The ideal candidate will have experience in customer service/customer facing roles is highly desirable.
