Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Finance and Operations Director in London on a full time permanent basis with a reputable arts charity. This Finance and Operations Director role is paying up to £55,000 per annum.
The Finance and Operations Director will be providing strong financial acumen, collaborating closely with the CEO and other senior stakeholders to drive plan delivery. Additionally, you will lead finance and operations part of the business as well as being a key team contributor for the financial resilience of the charity.
Main Responsibilities of the Finance and Operations Director:
- Work with the CEO and Trustees to set objectives, develop business plans, and ensure financial targets are met. Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead fundraising efforts, manage relationships with donors and corporate partners, and ensure all funding and sponsorship agreements are fulfilled. Support the fundraising team in meeting income targets.
- Oversee HR responsibilities, including staff welfare, payroll, and policy implementation. Manage the charity's risk register and ensure service effectiveness through audits and feedback integration.
- Handle day-to-day bookkeeping, budget preparation, and financial reporting. Work with external auditors and ensure accurate fund allocation and compliance with financial standards.
- Manage the charity's operational aspects, including venue management, GDPR compliance, and safeguarding responsibilities. Act as an ambassador for the charity, maintaining relationships with external stakeholders.
Person Specification of the Finance and Operations Director
- Knowledge of QuickBooks, HR management, GDPR, health and safety regulations, and the UK care system.
- Senior management experience in operations, strategic planning, budgeting, and compliance, particularly within a multi-functional venue and non-profit environment. Experience with capital projects and facilities management.
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, Google Drive), ability to manage change, handle staff issues, and prioritise tasks effectively. Capable of driving improvement and motivating teams.
- Patient, resilient, and able to work under pressure. Creative, proactive, and capable of taking the initiative. Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Passion for the charity's mission, inclusive approach, ability to maintain confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
