Finance Director - Account Based
Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer of C&W Services, the Strategic account finance leader will serve as a key business partner to the Senior Vice Presidents and Vice President, Client Services, to deliver valuable commercial insights across supporting a key strategic C&W Services client. This role will support approximately $350 million of revenue. It will provide the strategic finance framework for decision support, forecasting and the annual plan that will guide more profitable decision making. He or she will be responsible for managing several direct reports on a day-to-day basis.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts for key accounts
- Prepare variance analysis and work with operations to ensure that budgets and forecasts are achieved; identify ways to minimize risks and opportunities to drive top-line growth or improve margin
- Manage both the monthly client and internal closes; ensure all reporting and transactional processing requirements are complete and accurate
- Ability to interpret, structure, and implement contracts to minimize risks and to ensure adherence to contract requirements including billing, AR collections, reporting, and KPIs
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with client contacts
- Act as an integral part of account senior leadership teams to ensure business decisions are analyzed from a finance perspective prior to implementation
- Work with analytics and other teams to automate reporting and other client requirements
- Team with Commercial Solutions on pricing for rebid and renewal proposals
- Support executive leadership and operations with ad hoc financial analysis
- Support Controllership with annual audit and ad hoc requests
- Oversee and sign off on monthly, quarterly, and annual SOX controls related to Revenue, Accounts Payable, Journal Entries and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Authorize Capital Purchases, Vehicle Leases, Ad Hoc Payroll and Master Data changes
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly business review decks including KPIs and various analytical reports
- Coach and educate operations team on financial related topics, policies, and procedures; ; experience presenting to large audiences
- Work with operations, corporate finance, and legal on contractual matters, including audits
- Lead a team, identifying each individual’s strengths, weaknesses and support needs and guide their training and development
- Ensure corporate policies and procedures are adhered to
Requirements
- 10+ years related professional experience – FP&A, Controllership, and/or Operational Finance
- Industry experience – manufacturing, distribution, or professional services preferred
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with budgeting, forecasting, general accounting, SOX, contract set up, billing, purchase orders, calculation of billable hourly rates, transactional processing, month-end close, capital investments, leases, and variance analysis
- Experience collaborating with customers (internal and external) on all finance matters noted above and as a general business partner; ability to communicate financial concepts to a non-financial audience
- Experienced people leader
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Experience developing and enhancing processes and controls; experience improving transactional efficiencies and leveraging of ERP systems (JD Edwards/Oracle ideal but not required)
- Strong analytical and communication skills supported by advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Keen sense of urgency and attention to detail, takes ownership of work, elevated level of customer service, resilient, self-starter, and a has a can-do attitude
- College degree with a major or concentration in finance, accounting, or economics
- Ability to occasionally travel to customer sites to work with site management
- CPA (or equivalent) or MBA ideal but not required
