An opportunity has arisen within the Medical Care Group for a Deputy General Manager of Acute Medicine and Older People's services.

We are a large and innovative directorate, delivering same day emergency care, key assessment units, inpatient wards, and care in the community.

The postholder will be expected to work flexibly with the other Deputy General Manager for Acute Medicine and Older People's services, as determined by business need.

As UHD moves to a split between urgent care and planned care over the next 18 months, this postholder will be critical in delivering key changes to the medical pathways to maintain safe and effective patient flow. We need a postholder who can focus on the the day-to-day operational pressures, while also thinking strategically about transformation and service improvement, working flexibly with other internal and external partners to drive forward the right changes for patients and staff.

The Radiology Physics Department support a range of cutting edge imaging equipment across our hospitals within the Trust. We are looking for a highly experienced physicist in the field of Diagnostic Radiology to join our growing team as Deputy Head of Radiology Physics at University Hospitals Dorset. We also support MRI, Ultrasound and Lasers, so an interest in this area would be advantageous though not a requirement for the post. Anyone wishing to keep their skills and knowledge up to date in this field would be supported and encouraged to do so.

The ideal candidate will be a HCPC registered clinical scientist and hold RPA2000 certification to act as an MPE and RPA in the diagnostic radiology, although applications from those holding only one certificate are encouraged as support for attainment of the other will be provided.

Candidates who are not certified MPE or RPA but who are demonstrably close to being able to submit their portfolio for either may be considered for appointment to a lower band, initially.

• Assess the radiation protection and imaging performance aspects of all new radiological imaging equipment, as part of the commissioning process.

The neonatal and maternity operations and performance manager is a new role at UHD and is key to delivering our Trust strategy of aligning these two core services.

Kimmeridge Court is a 10 bedded Inpatient unit and 4 place day programme for over 18’s

It is an exciting time to join the inpatient and day programme team as we have recently moved into a purpose-built new building in the grounds of St Ann’s Hospital, Poole. As a result of additional investment, we are increasing our staff compliment to support the opening of 4 additional beds, taking us from 6 to 10 beds. We have also created new roles to offer opportunity for career progression for staff who wish to remain in eating disorders but do not necessarily want to move out of the inpatient and day programme setting,

The aim will be for you will work in the numbers 2 shifts per week, the remaining 3 days will be 9-5 for management specific responsibilities.

We provide an initial induction, inhouse and other training opportunities, plus clinical and management supervision. • Develop and maintain effective insurance policies and procedures in line with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Act as the primary advisor on insurance matters for Devon & Cornwall Police, Dorset Police, OPCC Devon & Cornwall, and OPCC Dorset.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Oversee the analysis of insurance risks and claims, implementing strategies to mitigate potential losses.

Position Requirements:

EATING DISORDERS – Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager

Kimmeridge Court is a 10 bedded Inpatient unit and 4 place day programme for over 18’s

It is an exciting time to join the inpatient and day programme team as we have recently moved into a purpose-built new building in the grounds of St Ann’s Hospital, Poole. As a result of additional investment, we are increasing our staff compliment to support the opening of 4 additional beds, taking us from 6 to 10 beds. We have also created new roles to offer opportunity for career progression for staff who wish to remain in eating disorders but do not necessarily want to move out of the inpatient and day programme setting,

The aim will be for you will work in the numbers 2 shifts per week, the remaining 3 days will be 9-5 for management specific responsibilities.

We provide an initial induction, inhouse and other training opportunities, plus clinical and management supervision. Your continuous professional development will be planned and tailored to your needs together with support to achieve your personal objectives set via annual appraisal and you will receive regular clinical and management supervision.



We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Nurse (RMN) who can work effectively and dynamically in a busy and demanding setting to join our eating disorders inpatient and day programme team as Deputy Ward Manager.

The Deputy Ward Manager undertakes a dual clinical and leadership role, acting as a deputy for the Ward Manager. They play a key role in the day-to-day management of ward, are a main point of contact for advice/decisions and will support, supervise, and manage staff.

Experience of eating disorders is desirable but not essential as learning and development will be provided.

Experience of line managing is desirable but not essential as training and support will be given.

The Dorset All Age Eating Disorders Service (DAEDS) is a unique service that provides eating disorders assessment, treatment and care. for people of all ages with an eating disorder and their families.   DAEDS has a ten bedded adult inpatient unit, a four-place adult day programme and an all-age community service.  There are also two fixed term pilot projects running, focused on reducing the need for inpatient admissions.

As the DAEDS Business Manager you will be supporting the DAEDS Manager with the aim of continual service improvement to ensure delivery of high quality care and services, activities include service re-design and development, and providing professional advice on service and quality improvements. This will also include planning and assisting with service delivery, the development of business cases, activity monitoring and delivery.

Horizon scanning and seeking innovative solutions to assist performance will be key and you will benefit from working alongside a range of other corporate and organisation wide services in delivering this.

You will assist teams to better understand performance data and seek ways to improve delivery against a wide range of Key performance indicators.

You will support the DAEDS managers in managing the budgets and ensure services are delivered within budget.

You will be accountable for the planning, allocation and monitoring of the work and performance of the allocated cyber resources to meet agreed targets for delivery, adjusting workloads, allocation, and priorities to meet peaks and troughs of work.

You will play a pivotal role in the delivery of the Trust Cyber Security Strategy, which includes vulnerability/penetration testing, staff education and training, phishing simulation campaigns, implementing and planning of current and future digital security solutions, researching and reviewing industry best practice, and upcoming changes to technology.

You will own and be responsible for the completion of all digital and cyber elements of the Data Security Protection Toolkit as well as all related Cyber Security assurance and compliance activities.
