The Cancer Division is a large division with a workforce of approximately 1300 WTE and annual turnover of £240M. The Division delivers world class cancer care to patients from across the country and spans multiple sites and departments across the Trust campus. The cancer division holds operational responsibility for the Macmillan Cancer Centre and Grafton Way Building, including the proton beam centre and is responsible for 185 beds. The Division hosts and plays a leadership role in a number of regional networks including the red cell network and the sarcoma cancer network. The division also includes the cancer clinical trials unit, working closely with both UCL and the BRC to lead on the development and delivery of translational research.

This is an exciting time to join the Cancer Division due to the involvement in a number of high-profile strategic projects including the transfer of paediatric radiotherapy patients from the Marsden and a proposal to create a new Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. The Division is also leading on a number of other projects including the relaunch of the Cancer Academy, the development of an oncology acute assessment unit to improve the emergency flow of cancer patients and the expansion of radiotherapy services.

An opportunity has arisen within the Cancer Division at UCLH for a Deputy Divisional Manager. This post will provide deputy support to the Divisional Manager of Cancer Services and join a team of senior managers within the Cancer Division to deliver an ambitious strategy of ensuring UCLH becomes a world class cancer centre.

The Cancer Clinical Trials Unit at UCLH is looking to recruit a Data Manager to support a portfolio of Phase II-III clinical trials in the Leukaemia and Non-Malignant Haematology clinical trials team. You may be required to cover other disease areas on a short-term or longer term basis.

The post-holder will be required to deliver and verify trial-specific information to sponsors, support the team with the set-up of new clinical trials and assist as needed with the processing of biological samples, amongst other tasks. You will be part of supportive and dynamic team, working closely with clinical research staff. Whilst the position is administrative, the role is vital in supporting clinical research staff deliver excellent care to patients with cancer.

We are currently supporting hybrid remote working, allowing a combination of working from home and office-based working. Flexibility around on-site working is essential and you may be required to attend the office at relatively short notice to ensure that the service is covered.

We ideally want someone with experience of clinical research, knowledge of cancer, good verbal and written communication skills and some experience of working in a healthcare setting. However, if you have some of these criteria and clear enthusiasm for the role, we welcome your application.

The post holder will:
- Have a portfolio of trials for which they are responsible
- Complete data entry into case report forms for assigned trials as per protocols
- Ensure case report forms are completed are of high quality, accurate and sent in a timely manner
- Resolve issues with source data and anomalous data at the time of reporting, reviewing against previously reported data as well as local and national normal ranges.
- Prioritises workload to manage time effectively

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated General Manager to join the Emergency Department at UCLH. The post holder will be predominantly responsible for the smooth delivery of operational and performance targets within the Emergency Department as well as the continuous improvement within the Department.

• Carry out organisational diagnostics and analyses to identify critical OD needs and opportunities, and design appropriate support interventions.
• Work with the Head of Workforce Planning to identify potential solutions to gaps in workforce supply and demand and develop strategies to address gaps including role redesign.
• In partnership with the Deputy Director of Workforce Strategy and HR Business Partners, provide specialist advice in identifying potential areas for OD and business improvement, and support the HRBP and OD team to work effectively on identified initiatives and activities.

Talent Management
• Lead on the design, implementation and oversight of the trust-wide talent management and succession planning programme of work, including the organisation’s appraisal scheme.

Staff Engagement and Recognition
• Manage and oversee the annual staff survey and quarterly staff friends and family test, developing in collaboration with the Communications Team, engagement plans to promote the surveys and leading on the analysis, development of reports and plans to address areas where there are areas of development for the Partnership.
• Jointly develop actions to be taken forward across all Divisions, in order to facilitate the ongoing enhancement of the Partnership's staff survey results, with an improvement trajectory in line with Partnership strategic objectives.
• Lead on the development and implementation of staff recognition events, initiatives and activities to improve and maintain the Partnership’s performance on staff engagement.
• Support the Director of Workforce in the further development and implementation of the Partnership's reward benefits; ensuring they are innovative and appropriate to attract and retain a high calibre workforce and position the Partnership as an employer of choice.
• FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accountability for the effective planning and monitoring of funds assigned to OD initiatives.
• Responsible for procurement, contract management and quality assurance of commissioned OD services.
• Work with Director of OD to ensure cost effectiveness of OD initiatives.
• Establish processes to monitor and evaluate effectiveness and ROI (return on investment) of OD initiatives.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for the management of the OD team and accountable for ensuring the team delivers high quality OD interventions and excellent customer care.
• Ensure that all management activities are carried out, throughout the team, in an appropriate and timely manner e.g., recruitment, appraisal, rostering, absence and performance management.
• Ensure supportive staff management arrangements are in place and carry out appraisals for direct reports and subsequently that all staff in the team have annual reviews resulting in specific objectives and effective personal development plans supporting organisational and service objectives.
• Manage, performance, coach, support and challenge the team to deliver the best possible outcomes/services for the partnership.
