A rapidly growing, PE-backed organisation in Guildford is looking for a Finance Manager to lead their transactional finance function. This is a newly created post reporting into and working closely with the Financial Controller, overseeing 4 direct reports and taking overall responsibility for the activities of their teams.
In addition to providing inspirational leadership and strategic direction, the Finance Manager will be heavily involved in spearheading process improvements, digital transformation and automation projects to streamline workloads and create efficiency gains within the finance department.
What will the Finance Manager role involve?
• People management – an inspirational leader capable of managing and motivating a large finance team with compassion and empathy.
• Process improvements – embrace and champion corporate digital transformation programme, streamline processes, teach staff how to work smarter to prevent them becoming overwhelmed by volume.
• Automation – move away from manual procedures by implementing systems and processes which reduce human input.
Suitable Candidate for the Finance Manager vacancy:
• Significant experience in managing medium/large finance teams, with deep knowledge of purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and associated transactional tasks.
• First-rate people person willing to roll up their sleeves, lead from the front and show rather than tell.
• Persistently positive and resilient individual, able to overcome resistance.
• Strong track record of streamlining/improving processes and delivering system implementation and automation projects.
