As a Payroll Team Leader, you will be responsible along with five other Payroll Team Leaders for the day-to-day management of the Pay Team, processing a number of monthly and weekly payrolls, manipulating and uploading data from Excel on to our ESR systems.

Your remit will include producing pre, post and ad hoc payroll reports as well as assisting with balancing and reconciliations of payroll. You should have a pleasant telephone manner and be able to deal with difficult calls if necessary.

NHS England Fellowship: The Understanding of Sexism in the Workplace (0.4 WTE) with Junior Clinical Fellow Post in Emergency Medicine (0.6 WTE)

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton are pleased to offer a hybrid post consisting of a 0.4 wte NHSE England Fellowship post and a 0.6 WTE Emergency Medicine Junior Clinical Fellow (LED) post.Applications for this post are for both the leadership fellow and clinical components of this role and cannot be uncoupled.This is a new and exciting opportunity to undertake a pivotal role in understanding and transforming the future working environment at UHDB. This post will be based at both the Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton for the NHSE Fellowship component, but the clinical commitments of the Junior Clinical Fellow role will be based at the Royal Derby Hospital.

The post involves undertaking specific NHSE project work for 16 hours (2 days) per week, focusing on the understanding of sexism in the workplace. The Emergency Medicine Junior Clinical Fellow component of this role (0.6 WTE) will take place in the Emergency Department at the Royal Derby Hospital and will involve working clinically at this level in all areas of the department.



The post is available to all doctors who have successfully completed their two-year Foundation training and beyond. A minimum of 12 months clinical experience in a UK NHS setting is essential due to the required understanding of NHS structures. Previous experience in Emergency Medicine is desirable.

The post holder will take part in the NHSE Fellowship Development Programme (attending 4 development days). The posts also come with significant NHSE funding (up to £5000) for each appointed Fellow, towards registration fees for an academic qualification which has been agreed between the Fellow, Project Supervisor and NHSE Midlands.

The post holder willwork clinically (0.6 WTE) as aJunior Clinical Fellow in the Emergency Department at the Royal Derby Hospital and have a specific mandate during the Fellowship time (0.4 WTE) to work on projects relating to the understanding of sexism in the workplace (see detailed job description section below).

The postholder will work clinically (0.6 WTE) as aJunior Clinical Fellow in the Emergency Department at the Royal Derby Hospital. The post would be ideal for those who are:

· Considering a career in Emergency Medicine or Acute Specialties and looking for the support and training required to successfully apply for a training post.

· Undecided on a career pathway and looking to undertake an additional acute post prior to future applications.

From a clinical perspective these posts will participate in the 24-hour Emergency Department rota with flexibility to accommodate individual personal requirements. The post holder will be expected to prioritise and time-manage effectively according to the activity of the department and to utilise appropriately the available senior staff for advice.

For the NHSE Fellowship component (0.4 WTE), the post holder will have a specific mandate to work on two main project areas relating to understanding sexism in the workplace: 1) developing and introducing a standardised training package for medical staff to understand what constitutes sexism in the workplace and how to recognise it as a bystander; 2) developing and introducing a standardised reporting process for incidents at UHDB which are related to sexism in the workplace.

The Fellow will work at the interface between the senior Postgraduate Medical Education team, the clinical team in the Emergency Department and People services. They will collaborate with these key teams, and other relevant stakeholders, to develop a qualitative and quantitative understanding of potential sexism in the workplace at UHDB. Based on this evidence-based understanding locally, and up-to-date national knowledge in this field, the Fellows will thereafter develop and deliver a strategy at UHDB to minimise sexism in the workplace and thus optimise the clinical working and training environment for all. This should inform the measures that UHDB can take as an employer to provide an appropriately inclusive and supportive organisational culture for all, allowing for enhanced personal and professional development.

The Fellow will be supported by the Trust and NHS England (Midlands) to share learning from the projects undertaken at Trust, regional and national level, for example by posters, presentations and publications. The £5000 bursary for an academic qualification, or similar appropriate to the area, will assist with this and the further development of the Fellow.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and experienced leader to join the Specialist Autism Team as a Clinical Operational Manager.

The Clinical Operational Manager in The Specialist Autism Team will have a key role in continued development of the service, working closely with managers, community services, multi agencies, third sector and other key stakeholders, to support individuals who are in crisis or require an intensive community response; aiming to maintain adults with autism to stay within their own home setting where possible.

Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.
