Finance Responsibilities

Note that this position is an addition to the team and all responsibilities below are currently handled by the finance manager and other finance team members; whom will be able to provide direction on their accomplishment over time.

• Manage full sets of accounts including preparation of journal entries, balance sheets, income statements & other reporting schedules

HR Responsibilities

• Employee records maintenance: Maintain and update employees' personal data in HR portal

• Prepare statement of group cash flow, necessary supporting schedules and announcement on quarter-end and year-end closing for SGX announcement.
• Ensure closing of group consolidation are on timely basis and information furnished are accurate and in concise manner.
• Board file preparation on quarterly basis.
• Assist in preparation of annual report, annual general meeting (AGM) and extraordinary general meeting (EGM).
• Assist in preparation of Sustainability Report.
• Assist in simplifying monthly conso package.
• Prepare consolidation of group annual budget and forecast.
• Assist in co-ordinate and liaise with external auditors for all group matters and issues.
• To ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirement and standards (Financial Reporting Standards and Tax Act).
• Assist in development and implementation of standard operating procedures.
• Any ad-hoc matters as assigned.

Secondary (10%)

Manage a local subsidiary and its affiliates, encompassing the subsequent areas:

• Review payment vouchers and staff claim.
• Review financial reports and ensure compliance with overall group’s reporting and prescribed standards.
• Monitor and analyse monthly operating results against budgeted financial reports.
• Monthly preparation of board pack materials and conduct of the monthly board meetings.
• Review GST reports for monthly or quarterly filing to IRAS.
• Oversee yearly stock take exercise.
• Review year-end closing and audit schedules, including the liaison with auditors and tax agents.
• Coordinate and liaise on the yearly financial budget and forecast.
• Review of daily cash flow.
• Perform a detailed GPM analysis on a project basis.
• Need travelling to oversea subsididiaries
• Any ad-hoc matters as assigned.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy or ACCA or its equivalent.
• Minimum 8 to 10 years of related working experience.
• Experience in Group Consolidation under Listed Company is preferred.
• Familiar in analysis of group results and SGX reporting
• Conversant in Singapore Financial Reporting Standards and or International Financial Reporting Standards and group consolidation
• Knowledge of SAP ERP System will be an added advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the financial and statutory reporting functions
• Analyse trends, possible improvements, areas of risks, financing and any key issues relating to the business and provide recommendation for improvements
• Provide leadership and supervision to the Finance Team to ensure smooth accounting operations
• Monitors and advises on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff, and handles issues relating to staff performance
• Responsible for the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets
• Coordinate the annual statutory audit, including preparation of reports, addressing auditors' queries, reviewing and assessing the audit findings from the auditors, ensuring that all exceptions and issues are addressed
• Member of the District Business Board, involved in decision making, presenting Finance matters and offering recommendations to the Board
• Review accounting and internal controls and suggest improvements
• Ensure compliance with organisation policies, boards, councils' decisions and government statutory legislations

Degree in Accountancy, ACCA or equivalent

Job Requirements

• At least 10 years' relevant experience in a similar capacity
• Good knowledge of Oracle systems and experience in non-profit organisation will be an added advantage
• Hands-on and proactive with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
