The Trust Programme Management Office (TPMO) has a vital role in the delivery of NUH’s ambition to be outstanding in health outcomes and patient and staff experience and has a remit covering all programmes across the Trust.

The Trust PMO comprises of a team of programme and project professionals focused on improving the successful delivery of programmes by providing a wide range of Portfolio, Programme and Project, Management services to NUH Clinical and Corporate Divisions. The post holder will play an active part in the Programme team and the associated programme activities through, for example, ensuring programmes and projects follow the Trust’s programme management framework, being a useful point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, setting and managing corrective actions and managing the delivery of projects under the supervision of Programme Managers.

The role will require strong persuasive and negotiating skills to ensure effective engagement of all parties and effective assurance of the programmes across all work streams and stakeholders.

Key Job Responsibilities

Core clinical pharmacy activities

To work in accordance with relevant pharmacy and Trust policies and procedures relating to the management of medicines.

To ensure safe, rational and effective prescribing by undertaking medication reconciliation, assessing suitability of prescribed medication (including chemotherapy and associated medicines), enabling use of patient’s own medicines and patient self-administration, counselling (to optimise medicines use), and ensuring continuity of patient care at transitions of care

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and well-motivated individual to the role of a Band 6 Clinical Technologist in the Radiation Physics Section of the Medical Physics & Clinical Engineering Department in Nottingham.

Radiation Physics is a highly specialised section within the department providing scientific and technical support to departments using ionising and non-ionising radiation both for treatment and diagnosis.

Applicants should be on the Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT). For any applicants nearing the end of the IPEM Clinical Technologist training scheme appointment would initially be at Band 5 with an upgrade to Band 6 on successful completion of the scheme and entry onto the register.

The post-holder will provide technical services including quality assurance checks on diagnostic imaging equipment with an emphasis on CT, Interventional fluoroscopy and mammography testing. The appointee will participate in patient dosimetry programmes and will also be encouraged to take part in development work.

In the course of their duties the post-holder will be required to work in close collaboration with colleagues, service engineers and customers from external organisations to whom we provide services.

1) Clinical/scientific

a) Participate in the routine testing of diagnostic X-ray equipment and ultrasound scanners used in the abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and breast screening programmes.

b) To organise own schedule of routine survey work to comply with Radiation Physics service contracts with customers.

c) Perform critical examination and commissioning of new, modified or repaired clinical equipment as required.

d) Perform radiation safety and quality assurance surveys on more specialised equipment (eg. CT, Mammography, Radiotherapy Imaging), according to the post holder’s experience, expertise and the needs of the service.

Nottingham Children’s Hospital has 116 acute beds and a stand-alone Paediatric Emergency Department, forming part of the Nottingham Major Trauma Centre. One Fellowship position in Paediatric Anaesthesia is available from February 2025 for a period of 12 months.

The exciting opportunity is designed for those wishing to pursue a career as a specialist paediatric anaesthetist, and fulfils all the criteria described in the Royal College of Anaesthetist 2010 curriculum. Applicants may be pre or post CCT, must hold FRCA or equivalent, and should have already completed their higher level training in paediatric anaesthesia.

Approximately 10,000 paediatric surgical procedures are carried out each year at NUH, including emergency work. There is a significant neonatal surgery workload and NUH is a tertiary referral centre for neurosurgery, paediatric oncology and radiotherapy, paediatric urology and renal transplantation, spinal surgery and cleft lip and palate surgery. There is also a large ENT, emergency, general and plastic surgery workload. The NUH Major Trauma Centre is one of the busiest in the country, with a significant number of paediatric major trauma cases.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to experience all the sub-speciality areas during their placement, with the option to choose areas of specific interest for further development as experience develops.

We 16 full-time paediatric anaesthetists, who provide anaesthesia for most paediatric sub specialities, with the exception of cardiac and craniofacial surgery. The anaesthetic department has close links with both the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal intensive Care Unit.
The department also has an active Paediatric Acute Pain Service, led by Dr H. King working with 2 Clinical Nurse Specialists.

The department has an active teaching program, comprising morbidity and mortality, audit, journal reviews and training in sub-speciality areas of anaesthesia. Our fellow will be expected to contribute regularly to these meetings. There are also excellent research links with the University Department of Anaesthesia, Nottingham University and Nottingham Trent University. Active research projects are always ongoing, and there is opportunity for the appointee to develop their own ideas.

Successful applicants will:
• Provide daytime cover in the full range of sub-speciality areas available in NUH (initially under direct supervision; with increasing autonomy as experience increases)

Due to staff promotion, we are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join our well-established Cancer Pharmacy team at NUH.

You will provide a specialist clinical pharmacy service to the oncology and clinical haematology specialties, working closely with the Specialist Clinical Pharmacists and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide excellent patient care. In this exciting post you will rotate through the cancer service and gain exposure to a wide range of sub-specialties. Key Job Responsibilities

Core clinical pharmacy activities

To work in accordance with relevant pharmacy and Trust policies and procedures relating to the management of medicines.

To ensure safe, rational and effective prescribing by undertaking medication reconciliation, assessing suitability of prescribed medication (including chemotherapy and associated medicines), enabling use of patient’s own medicines and patient self-administration, counselling (to optimise medicines use), and ensuring continuity of patient care at transitions of care

Providing medicines for individual patients during their stay in hospital, at discharge and during day case and out-patient visits

The busy Service Desk is a single site service providing help and support to all staff within Nottingham University Hospitals, receiving on average 800 contacts per day through phone, self-service and email, a mixture of which are service requests and incidents.

To take ownership of receiving and recording incidents and service requests, presented through a variety of mediums (face to face, phone, self-service, email) for a wide range of customers who use Nottingham University Hospital systems.

To provide first line support via analysing and diagnosing as they are reported to the Service Desk, ensuring all relevant information is captured and recorded whilst resolving the majority of incidents at first point of contact using remote support tools where applicable to achieve this.
