We are looking to recruit a Bank Nursery Assistant to work as and when required on various shifts within the nursery opening hours of 7.30a.m -5.30p.m.
The successful candidate must have a NVQ Level 2 qualification, have the ability to work effectively as part of a team along with good verbal and written communication skills. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure check.
To assist the Nursery Nurses to provide high quality care and education for the babies and young children that attend the day nursery.
To assist in the planning, provision, delivery and supervision of well planned, age and developmentally appropriate play opportunities for the babies and young children that attend the day nursery.
To work individually, or as part of a team with the babies and young children attending the day nursery to promote and support each child’s all round development.
To assist in creating a caring and inclusive environment

• Assist the Nursery Nurses in ensuring that the highest standards of childcare and early years education are provided at all times.
• To adhere to the Safe Guarding Children policy and procedure
• To ensure that the needs of the babies and the young children attending the day nursery are met.
• To meet all Health & Safety requirements ensuring that a safe environment is provided for the babies and young children attending the day nursery.
• Under supervision/guidance work within the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Statutory Framework and Sherwood Forest Hospitals policies and procedures.
• To ensure that all aspects of care are undertaken for the babies and the young children attending the day nursery; including feeding, changing soiled nappies, underwear and clothes, making up beds and cots, changing bedding and cleaning mattresses and cots after use.
• Support the Nursery Nurses to plan and provide a suitably broad and balanced range of stimulating, safe, age appropriate activities to promote children’s all round development.
• Provide support to new members of staff, students and volunteers
• As guided/supported by more experienced staff, liaise with the child’s
