Your New Role
Reporting to a Senior Accountant, you will be working within a team providing high quality finance & admin support to service departments.
This role is required to work independently with minimal supervision to raise all invoices and recharges for the services we support and deal with any customer queries arising and maintain the necessary back up information (electronically). It will also involve the completion of various monthly reconciliations and dealing with any queries that arise liaising with relevant service managers and the banking team. The post will also undertake posting journals, General Ledger housekeeping and general support to clients and accountancy staff.
In this role you will be using spreadsheets and the Council's Financial Information System on a daily basis. You may also have the opportunity to assist accountancy staff with the compilation of year end accounts and budget forecasting.
This role would suit somebody who is actively studying for, or seeking to start, a relevant qualification.
What you'll need to succeed
As well as being computer literate you will have good organisation and prioritising skills to enable you to meet deadlines. You will have a good standard of spreadsheet skills and be able to use financial information systems. You will be able to produce accurate work as well as the ability to form good relationships and communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
