Ideally with previous experience of working in a recruitment or a HR administrative role, you will have enthusiasm for HR and a strong customer service ethos. 1. Monitor voicemails and respond to enquiries from patients and clients, including handling potentially difficult calls, in a professional manner, assessing the urgency, taking messages and passing to the relevant person where necessary.
2. Book, amend or cancel patient appointments, by telephone or face to face, ensuring all records are updated and patients and clients are informed. Advise patients on access to and use of services.

An opportunity has arisen within the Pathology Department at Lincoln County Hospital for a Biomedical Assistant, based in the Blood Sciences department.

This is a Fixed-Term Maternity Cover post from 24/03/2024 to 23/03/2025.

Previous laboratory experience would be an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given.

You will be required to have good communication and keyboard skills, along with the ability to work under pressure. Although supervised by Biomedical Scientists, once fully trained, you should be capable of working independently.

Hours will routinely be 09:00 - 17:30, Mon-Fri. However, depending on training, you may be asked to help cover the Out-Of-Hours Roster.

Biomedical Assistants are technical support staff within the blood science laboratory. With suitable training they perform analyser maintenance, basic troubleshooting, some simple manual tests under supervision to ensure samples meet their turnaround times. They will carry out audits, stock checks, stock rotation, reagent preparation and general support to the Biomedical Scientists.
