We are offering an exciting opportunity to join the Dorset HealthCare Podiatry Service in a developmental role. We are looking for people who have a passion and a desire to start or further develop their career in podiatry in Dorset. You must be able to demonstrate compassion, commitment, and respect in line with the NHS values and behaviours as well as flexibility to work across more than one employer. This is a development role via the Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship standard. The post-holder will be a trainee and will complete a Level 5 Diploma for Assistant Practitioners in Healthcare.
This role will involve travel across Dorset.

You will undertake a two-year assistant practitioner apprenticeship programme. As well as studying, you will provide comprehensive foot care treatment,
advice and continuing care to patients. This will include footcare such as nail reduction and lesion redressing. Other duties will include, support to specialist and lead podiatrists, responsible for stock orders, accurate recording of treatments and related work, preparing clinical areas and manufacturing of insoles and silicone appliances.

An opportunity has arisen for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join the Microbiology department at University Hospitals Dorset.

The Microbiology laboratory is well-equipped, fully computerised, holds UKAS accreditation and is approved for training. We currently offer diagnostic microbiology to The Royal Bournemouth Hospital and general practice. The laboratory routinely handles in excess of 150,000 specimens per year and alongside this is supporting COVID testing.

The successful candidate will be part of the microbiology team providing a diagnostic medical microbiology service contributing to the clinical care of patients and control of infectious diseases within the hospital and community, by providing support to the Biomedical Scientists and other staff. As such this post will be a varied and interesting role that will require an adaptable and flexible working ethic. All training will be provided to the candidate who will then backfill for staff leave between the sections.

This is an exciting time to join the pathology team in Dorset as we are in the process of reconfiguring the services across the county including the construction of a new pathology hub laboratory at the Bournemouth site.

Working hours are 37.5 per week, which includes participation in a weekend rota.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Dorset HealthCare for an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Psychologist to join the CAMHS Gateway service.

CAMHS Gateway currently provide assessments and brief interventions for families referred into CAMHS across Dorset. We are going through an exciting period of transformation, meaning that there may be some changes to the post, including to the working base (however this will remain in Dorset).

This is a one year fixed term full-time position. Early application is advised because applications will be capped.

Within Dorset, there are a number of parts to the CAMHS team. In CAMHS Gateway, we provide assessments and brief interventions with families referred into CAMHS.

As an assistant psychologist in the team, you will be able to have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues in CAMHS Gateway and other parts of the service. You will gain experience in assisting in the provision of psychological support for families (including running groups), completing screening tools as part of the neurodevelopmental pathway, clinical audits and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

In addition to this, a large part of the role will be working with Voluntary, Charitable and Social Enterprise (VCSE) services as we are currently piloting a pathway between CAMHS and VCSE organisations. This will include helping families who are referred to a VCSE organisation following assessment in CAMHS Gateway, ensuring that theyhave help navigating services anddo not feel 'dropped' if an onward referral is made.

The post will be Pan-Dorset so being able to travel would be essential.

An exciting position has become available in the dialysis unit for a highly skilled haemodialysis assistant practitioner.

Previous experience in dialysis essential but candidates will be supported to obtain all knowledge, skills and competencies required of the Assistant Practitioner role.

The successful candidate will either already hold Associate Practitioner, Nursing associate qualification or equivalent qualification, or be willing to undertake the Apprentice Associate Practitioner course to gain the qualification. Band 3 will be paid until course completion.

Providing a warm, friendly welcome to patients, ensuring their needs and comfort are met during their stay in the unit, so excellent communication skills are essential to the role.

The role involves setting up the unit, stock control, ordering, programming dialysis machines.

Managing dialysis access, both needling of fistulas, and grafts plus dialysis catheters in order to deliver effective dialysis.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 rota assistant to provide support to the Medicine and Older Persons Services Rota Co-ordinator.

The successful applicant will be based with the Rota Team at UHD covering both the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Poole Hospital sites. This is a full-time role.

In order to be successful in this application you will need to be able to plan, organise and support rota administration within the department. You will work alongside a well established rota coordination team consisting of coordinators and administrators.

The rota assistant will be working closely with the Service Managers, Business Manager and clinical colleagues.

This is an exciting time to join the recently merged trust. This in turn will create a lot of opportunities to effect change and deliver services in a positive, inclusive manner.

We currently looking for an administration assistance to provide support to our community rehab service across Dorset, based predominately in Boscombe.

Nationally it has been recognised that rehabilitation is an area that has often been overlooked for investment and modernisation. We are proud to say the Trust in conjunction with our local Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group have recently completed a review of our Rehabilitation Services in Dorset and secured significant additional funding to redevelop and expand the services that we provide. This includes a dedicated pan Dorset Community based Rehabilitation Team.

The rehab team supports people who have chronic and disabling mental health problems that may be treatment resistant and who have previously spent long periods in hospital.

We are looking for people who are reliable, committed and dedicated, who have excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise their work.

There will be a robust induction package provided for all staff.

To ensure the provision of a professional, efficient and confidential administration service to the Mental Health Rehabilitation Team.

This role provides administrative support predominately to the Community rehab team, including the medical team however some cover may be required for other parts of the service.

All post holders will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team that includes Mental Health Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychology Assistants, Support Time Recovery Workers, Employment Specialists, Social Workers, Care Managers, Admin Assistants, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Medical Staffing.
