We are recruiting for an Audio Typist to join the Secretarial Team for 37.5 hours per weekwithin the Ophthalmology department, based at York Teaching Hospital. You will provide support to the Medical Secretaries and their Consultant Teams.

Excellent administration and audio-typing experience/qualifications are required, as well as a good understanding of general office duties.

You will be responsible for typing clinical and administrative letters and general office duties.

You will be required to have good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise the demands of a busy office and manage their time and workload effectively.

The post is for a sub-specialist knee surgeon with an interest in soft tissue and sports injuries with a knee arthroplasty practice. The current working model includes a 1 in 10 rota covering a general trauma intake providing an in-reach and referral service to other Surgical Wards and the Emergency department. There is dedicated daily trauma list capacity for the prompt management of trauma to complement a 24/7 rota, supported by an experienced multi-disciplinary orthopaedic team.

The department has successfully trained and developed their own middle grades to the level of experienced associate specialists. These valuable colleagues supplement those trainees who are allocated from the Yorkshire deanery.



We are seeking a fellowship trained knee arthroplasty and soft tissue knee surgeon to join the current team of specialist knee surgeons (1.5 soft tissue knee specialists and 3.5 revision knee specialists). We run a weekly local arthroplasty MDT, and in the process of developing a hub and spoke MDT system within our local ICT with Hull. We have a wide range of complex cases in the unit including multi ligament reconstructions, peri-prosthetic fractures, infections and cases referred from our local oncology department with metastatic disease about the hip and knee. We are also in the process of overhauling our virtual fracture clinic service and acute knee service, in which the successful candidate will be required to take an active role.

The successful candidate will be given full support in the form of joint Consultant operating for difficult cases, as well as with service development projects, patient safety initiatives and appraisal. This full time post will be based at York Hospital but the post holder will be expected to work on other sites (not more frequently than one day a week) as required. The successful applicant will support the routine biochemistry service including participation in duty biochemist rota, reporting of protein electrophoresis and attendance at MDT meetings, and will be fully supported to progress through FRCPath exams.

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint a Marine
Advocacy Manager.




The Marine Advocacy Manager is responsible for delivery of The Wildlife Trusts’ Marine Protected Areas (MPA) advocacy programme
within the North Sea, aiming to secure positive outcomes for marine wildlife through the identification of a suite of well managed
Marine Protected Areas. The role involves being a major stakeholder at every stage of the Marine Conservation Zone Project, Natura
2000 project and other key North Sea policy areas which impact upon MPAs, such as planning and fisheries issues.




The post holder will deliver advocacy work within and outside of the Wildlife Trusts focussing on the objectives of the Marine and
Coastal Act (2009). This will raise the awareness of marine conservation such that Trust staff and volunteers deliver benefits for
marine wildlife through their own work.




Applicant must have:

• A proven management and advocacy experience in marine wildlife conservation work.

• A proven track record of effective working with sea users, NGOs and statutory agencies.

• A good understanding of marine wildlife conservation issues.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the growing team of over 30 Dietitians in York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as a Dietitian based at York Hospital. You will be joining a forward thinking department which is valued and respected throughout the Trust, and crosses many specialties.

We will support you to develop skills across many areas of acute hospital work, as well as in general outpatient clinics. If you are a newly qualified Dietitian in your first year of practice, we have a Preceptorship programme to help support development of your skills and confidence as an autonomous practitioner.

The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy.



You will have the opportunity to work with many experienced Dietitians, as well as within broader multi-professional teams. You will be working with other Band 5 Dietitians, Dietetic Support Workers and Assistant Practitioners, and together you will provide inpatient services across areas including general medicine, surgery, critical care, stroke, gastroenterology, care of the elderly, cancer and renal disease.

Within the acute setting, in addition to oral nutrition support, you will be able to develop clinical skills working with patients requiring enteral tube feeding and parenteral nutrition. .

You will mainly be working within York Hospital, however there will also be the opportunity to work cross-site when required, including at Scarborough Hospital.

The department places a strong emphasis on clinical and peer support and clinical supervision, and has a well-established programme facilitating the training of dietetic students on the three clinical placements included within their training. We are also involved in delivering a variety of rolling training programmes for other healthcare professionals across the Trust, relating to nutritional care. The successful candidate will be involved in these important aspects of supporting the learning and development of others.

The post holder will take an active role in specialty care of inpatients and will also participate in the General Medicine on call rota at the site. The department is part of a care group wide transformation which has allowed us to develop our Same Day Emergency Care to control assessment of patients and flow into the bed base, working closely with colleagues in Emergency Medicine and General Practice.
