In the most recent CQC report, the IRS was identified as a source of positive change in how mental health services are delivered in Lancashire and South Cumbria

Forget caseloads and case management. In the IRS your skills and expertise will be in assessing patients at the point of referral and identifying what service will best meet their needs moving forwards. The spectrum of mental health needs vary significantly; you will have the ability to offer advice and guidance for mild to moderate mental health issues and ways this can be managed and improved. Equally, you’ll have the ability respond to urgent referrals with more acute needs and higher risks in the community.

The postholder will:
• Provide specialist knowledge and experience of hospital play to

The Orchard is a stand-alone unit based in Lancaster. It is an 18 bedded unit that specialises in the assessment and treatment of mental health conditions. This enables people to return to their communities, and allows them to regain their independence.

We are looking for caring, empathetic, enthusiastic individuals who have a passion to improve the lives of our patients. These roles will be to provide care and support to patients who require mental health interventions, guidance or monitoring.

As a staff nurse you will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high standard of care to those individuals who are within the most acute phase of illness; ensuring that all aspects of care are delivered. You will need effective communication skills and will be required to take on the roles of shift leader and named nurse.

You will be regularly supported and supervised by a more senior member of staff and a preceptorship is available if required.

Come and join our Initial Response Service team for The Bay. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the crisis pathway to ensure people with mental health issues get the most appropriate support at the right time.

There has never been a more exciting time to join our Trust. You will be part of a significant transformation to the way services are accessed and delivered. We are looking a call handler to help deal with referrals, enquiries from patients, service users, carers and clinicians for mental health services.

The role would be suitable for those with experience of service user contact, an excellent telephone manner and a strong customer focus. Comprehensive training will be provided to the right candidate.

The new service offers:
• A single referral point for GPs and other professionals
• A 24-hour telephone advice and support for people who use services and carers to be able to self-refer
• More responsive crisis services with improved experiences for people who use services, carers and professionals

Our aim is to provide people with mental health issues access to the support they need at the right time, with positive outcomes.

To provide a call reception service for enquiries and referrals into LSCFT in the designated locality. To support the referral pathway- engaging with service users, carers, members of the public and other professionals to ensure that calls are dealt with efficiently and routed appropriately. This involves administrative tasks associated with the maintenance of health records, scheduling appointments.

The service is 24/7 but as a call handler you will be working a shift pattern within our team

Consultant Psychiatrist – Older Adult Psychiatry, Lancaster and Morecambe (10 PAs)

We are seeking to recruit a substantive Consultant Older Adult Psychiatrist to work with the teams in Lancaster and Morecambe. The post is full time and the postholder will support the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team (RITT) and Memory Assessment Service (MAS).

There will be an expectation to join the Consultant On Call rota, for which additional remuneration is payable.

The clinical component of the post is focused on the care of the patients referred to the Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team, Community Mental Health Team and Memory Assessment Service with work base in Morecambe and/or Lancaster as will be agreed during job planning.

The post will be for a fixed term 12 month clinical attachment in the Oral and Maxillofacial Department to provide clinical experience and development opportunities for a Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
• Provide outpatients new, review and treatment clinics under the guidance & supervision of the Oral and Maxillofacial Consultants.
• Participate in case reviews, feedback sessions and maintain a logbook of clinical experience gained during the post.
• Support the work of Junior staff within the department, including supervising undergraduates when appropriate.
• Become involved in the interdisciplinary care of patients with Orthodontic and Restorative Dentistry Teams
• Support the Oral and Maxillofacial Department in delivering undergraduate & postgraduate training in partnership with the University of Central Lancashire.

This role would suit an individual interested in Dental Core Training and an interest in pursuing specialty training.

The post is full time and supports a 1:5 non-resident evening and weekend 1st on call rota with support from a consultant/specialist 2nd tier.

The successful applicant will join the OMFS team which consists of 4 consultants (OMFS and Oral Surgery), 1 Specialist in Oral Surgery, 3 Specialty Doctors, 1 Specialty Trainee in Oral Surgery, 1 DCT and 2 Foundation/DCT Trainees.
