An exciting opportunity has arisen to build a flexible workforce to support patients presenting to UHD with mental health, cognitive or challenging behavioural difficulties.

As a bank worker, you will be called upon to support patients that require enhanced mental health care, this could be on a 1:1 basis or you may be required to support multiple patients. You will be focusing on safety for both patients and staff as well as therapeutic intervention and supporting with activities of daily living as required. You will also work as part of the wider team supporting colleagues and other healthcare professional when requested to do so.
The post holder will provide outstanding enhanced care to patients
needing additional nursing and emotional support in a high stress
environment. This patient group may include but is not limited to:
• Mental illness
• Dementia
• Delirium
• Intoxication
• Traumatic Brain Injury
• Encephalitis
• Parkinson’s
• Specific neurological disease
• Brain Tumours
Breakaway (with safehold) training will be provided to successful candidates and is a condition of the bank agreement. As a 7-day service, we ensure peer support for bank workers. The offer of bank shifts is primarily at short notice for varied shift patterns.
