Your Role: As an Insurance Analyst you will be solving unstructured pricing and forecasting problems and performing analysis of higher complexity/difficulty, as part of a team navigating the complex California personal lines market.
Your work:
Perform complex and open-ended pricing analyses for our largest book of business.
Participate in formal presentations on results to management and external parties.
Seek opportunities to streamline and automate existing processes.
Represent the Pricing team in cross-functional projects, anticipating questions and identifying potential challenges.
Lead projects and being responsible for collaboration with other teams in collecting findings, making recommendations and developing action plans.
Evaluate analytical work done by others; making decisions and recommendations that consider the internal and external environments.
Act with urgency in response to analytical requests from regulators.
Consult with business partners to identify and scope business needs and issues.
Apply effective interpersonal skills to coaching and mentor co-workers and give feedback as required.
Required Experience, Education and Skills
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience
8+ years of analytical experience in insurance; multiple functions experience is preferred
Expert-level problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to multi-task and strong time management
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to give formal presentations
Ability to work in a team environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAS, SQL, Python and various structured analysis and design techniques.

The national average salary range for this position is $110,000 - $123,000. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $99,000-$147,000. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 10% of eligible pay.
