The Finance team works collaboratively to offer specialist advice, best practice and technology to all areas of our business specifically designed for our global reach.
We are currently recruiting for a Unit Finance Manager to join our team. This role can be undertaken out of any of our UK offices.
You will have overall responsibility for the Business Unit's financial operations as a key part of the Unit Management team, and you will collaborate closely with senior management to ensure the commercial success of the Business Unit and its initiatives.
What you will contribute to the team;
Management:
- The creation and assessment of business plans alongside the general manager and the Unit management team.
- To lead on financial planning and decision-making.
- Establish goals and Key Performance Indicators for quality assurance and performance tracking.
- An integral member of the unit management team responsible for the assessing of financial performance, defining and leading proactive actions, and implementing specific information
- In charge of nurturing relationships with the project teams and the larger business community, exchanging best practises, and encouraging a unified culture.
- Participation in Executive and Management Board meetings, providing the Unit with strategic direction
Projects:
- Scrutinising proposals, including evaluating the financial components of contracts to facilitate invoicing and payments and find justification for increased fees
- Enhance project team delivery by working collaboratively with group/regional finance, treasury, tax, and shared service teams.
- Attend monthly project control meetings to support major and sensitive projects
- Lead working capital management by enhancing timely billing and payment of invoices, cash flow, and remittances.
- Lead the finance team and project teams in positively challenging the status quo, building on our culture of continuous improvement and delivering excellence.
Reporting and Compliance
- Interpret monthly management accounts for the Unit; controlling financial performance, improving profitability, utilisation, overhead control and working capital
- Supervise preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, aligned in delivery of Business Plans
- Lead compliance with Group Directives including insurances, trade licenses and registrations. Supervise statutory accounts, tax and other returns, statutory and internal audits
- Monitor financial control environment and effective completion of an annual Controls Matrix
Training and Development
- Lead Unit staff in maintaining the project control system, providing finance training to control accurate project budgets and revenue recognition
- Deliver finance improvement projects to build positive relationships with the wider business and deliver projects profitably
Candidate Specification
Essential for the role of Unit Finance Manager
- Chartered Accountant with a number of years PQE
- ACA ACCA CIMA or Equivalent
- A poised professional, who is a peer to C Suite executives, offering a true business partner approach – with the discernment to positively challenge and influence.
- Commercially agile, able to pre-emptively identify and plan to mitigate risk.
- Able lead teams across various locations, and inspire an environment that motivates team members to perform at their best.
- Willing to travel on a regular basis to our UK based offices, including occasional travel overseas
