The core function of the credit team is to establish the suitability of BCA customers for a Partner Finance credit stocking facility. The senior analyst role is to support the senior management team in reviewing internal and external financial and non-financial information, in order to establish the creditworthiness of prospective and existing customers. This is done in the context of the company’s risk appetite and commercial focus, along with general account queries, reporting requirements and all forms of communication.
Main Responsibilities:
Credit Reviews
Prepare, analyse, and evaluate credit facilities on a defined review template in respect of new and existing customers using:
Documentation and information provided by customers, third-party sources and internal transactional data.
Analysing financial accounts to identify trends and specific data relevant to the recommendation and decision-making.
Following up queries and missing information directly with customers and the Commercial team to establish a clear view.
Consider forms of additional security that might enhance the credit risk profile of facilities recommended
Accurately maintain the credit proposal logs and other internal records.
Approve the satisfaction of Conditions of Approval to authorise review sign-offs.
Phones and Email
Participating in the administration of the credit department, handling applications, requests and queries from customers and other areas of the business including:
Answering general telephone and email queries relating to credit applications
Temporary credit limit increases to be presented to and authorised by management
Redirecting dealer enquiries to the correct department
Completing the administration process for management credit approvals
Provide cover on the phones/inbox as per the team rota.
To be successful, you’ll bring some of the following experience with you:
At least 4 years’ experience in credit underwriting and analysis of financial statements relating to SME’S in particular
Strong analytical skills to identify strengths and weaknesses in credit applications, plus anomalies that may require further investigation
Good attention to detail as accuracy is critical to assessing the level of risk in a new application or a live account
Good understanding of Excel/Word/Outlook/PowerPoint
Excellent verbal & written communication skills including report writing
Desirable - CICM qualified level 3 or above
Desirable - experience in the automotive industry
