Job Title: Accounting Strategy & Policy, AVP
Job Description:
Blackstone’s Finance group is seeking an experienced and diligent professional for a promising opportunity as an Assistant Vice President on the Accounting Strategy & Policy team. In this role, he/she/they will provide strategic accounting and policy support to the newly launched Blackstone Private Equity Fund (BXPE), as well as other Blackstone funds.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Research, communicate and document accounting issues and related solutions, in support of the funds’ financial reporting in coordination with fund finance, operations and legal and compliance teams
- Provide structuring advice on proposed transactions in consideration of the fund’s reporting objectives
- Develop accounting, non-GAAP and metric policies and procedures for BXPE and other Blackstone funds
- Assist BXPE controllership and SEC reporting teams with preparation of required SEC filings, including Form 10-Q, Form 10-K and Form 8-K
- Follow development of relevant US GAAP accounting standard setting at the Financial Accounting Standards Board, rule-making at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), IFRS accounting standard setting at the International Accounting Standards Board and related interpretations from Big 4 accounting firms. Determine applicability to Blackstone funds, including BXPE. Where applicable, lead implementation efforts at Blackstone for new standards, rules and interpretations.
- Assist in adherence to SEC independence rules by coordinating with accounting firms, and portfolio companies, preparing training materials, and designing policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with a Big 4 or a combination of Big 4 and Financial Services industry experience.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and/or investment company or private fund knowledge
- Excellent research skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Solution-oriented and collaborative creative thinker
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized with a robust work ethic and a positive attitude

Expected annual base salary range:
$125,000 - $185,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
