Investment Manager Amadeus Ventures
Summary
The Investment Manager will play a key role in driving the day-to-day operations of Amadeus Ventures, with the overall objective of becoming Amadeus’ external interface to the start-up community.
The person will be the main driver of the delivery of key objectives of the team - to identify growing business opportunity and ecosystem partnership for the company.
The person is required to work with the extended deal team of legal, finance, accounting, tax, etc. to complete the assessment and execution of each transaction.
Key responsibilities
1. Active owner and manager of the Venture Fund deal flow:
Create proactive dealflow in the agreed areas of investment (e.g. Hospitality, Payments, etc.). Leveraging in-depth knowledge of industry trends and Amadeus business needs and growth opportunities.
Establish solid network in technology startup ecosystem to enable a strong quality pipeline of deals
Develop knowledge on Amadeus units corresponding strategies and translate that into Ventures achievable investment objectives. Advise and share insights and trends from startup ecosystems.
2. Lead the execution of venture investments process and exits, working with junior members and extended VC deal team
Recommend investment opportunities and lead internal consultation process with Investment Committee or Excom members (depending on ticket size of the investment).
Supervise junior team member to complete investment and recommendation. Engage with IC and Excom members and involve other key parties for the decision-making process.
Manage the relationship and lead the negotiation with startups to finalize the investment and exit deal structure and valuation.
Lead presentation to Excom to get approval for funding;
Lead due diligence process and legal documentation to ensure successful signing and closing.
Identify continuous improvement opportunity to eliminate efficiencies and streamline dealflow process with legal and accounting and make proposals on their implementation.
3. Communications
Represent Amadeus as jury and speaker at external events, promoting Amadeus’ activities with startups and innovation and reinforce Amadeus brand as an innovative technology company;
Share knowledge acquired through Ventures activities with all staff in Amadeus through preparation of internal webinars.
Contribute into the growth of Startup Universe coverage
4. Portfolio Management
Create and manage long lasting relationships with portfolio companies' management team, being Amadeus contact person for all investment related topics
Strong collaboration with Business units on execution of collaboration use cases (PoC / Pilots) for improvement of Amadeus products and services
Supervise junior staff in the on-going compilation and monitoring of financial and operational KPIs of portfolio companies, while sharing technical expertise on deal structure and financial valuation.
The ideal candidate
At least 6 years of experiences in multinational firm in the areas of M&A / corporate finance / corporate ventures;
OR
At least 5 years of experiences in investment banking / venture capital / private equity / transaction services capacity.
Solid experience in venture capital / private equity deal execution.
Expert level financial modeler.
Strong understanding of VC deal structures. Experience in leading corporate finance due diligences
Excellent Communication skills in English, another European language is an asset.
