Business Unit – Sr. Finance Analyst (Sr. Mfg Finance Analyst B4)
Applied Materials Varian Business Unit is the leading worldwide producer of Ion Implantation equipment used in the manufacture of semiconductors. This position is located at our primary manufacturing and engineering plant in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage PBV (Period, Burden & Variance) Spend
- Support factory business decisions through collaboration with key mfg. stakeholders, maintaining accurate factory spend & labor data for decision making (plan, analysis, close, reporting). Participate in WWOps PBV & productivity reviews with Mgmt.
- Manage Tool COGS processes
- Maintain accurate Tool COGS & Non OPID accounting (plan, analysis, close, reporting). Present to manager & controller a comprehensive tool cost package with recommendations for the upcoming year (including product mix, rate, burden & PPV assumptions
- Manage Inventory Accounting for VBU
- Inventory Accounting (BS, BPR, E&O, reserves, GL Recon, Close & Reporting). Work with manager/team to define and manage core inventory data in a manner that allows for quick and accurate support of business decisions.
- Manage Purchase Price Variance (PPV) Process
- PPV Receipts, Close & Reporting (BU/WWOps). Partner with materials & SC team so you are aligned closely with build plan, receipt, and PPV assumption changes (business and accounting).
- Support Factory Acct Model
- Maintain accurate Factory Acct Model, prepare a comprehensive cost accounting analysis for mgmt. review which includes prior year actuals along with recommendations (activity rates & burden) for the upcoming year. Maintain material standards process (annual roll & ongoing maintenance).
- Support DCR (Design for cost reduction) & GMLT MCOS efforts
- Support Eng. DCR team with financial analysis that allows for proper prioritization of projects/resources, validate savings. Maintain financial portion of DCR reporting file
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Cost/Managerial Accounting, or related field of study
- Business partnering
- Experience with enterprise level financial systems (SAP/BPC preferred)
- Experience with large international MFG and/or Engineering company preferred
- Proven analytical skills
- Strong MS Office skill set (Excel, PP, BI, etc.)
- Tableau and/or Anaplan experience a plus

U.S. Salary Range:
$108,000.00 - $148,500.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
