Serco: Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre

Up to £38,000 per annum + Additional Payment of £140 when on call
Here at Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre, we have an exciting opportunity for a Multi-skilled Technician to join our FM team at Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre (IRC), where we are responsible for all aspects of detainee safety, security and welfare provision.
You will carry out routine HVAC, Mechanical and some electrical Engineering work, preventative maintenance, and repairs alongside assisting in multi trade support of other members of the FM service team.
Some of the daily Technician duties include but are not limited to:
- Ensure that various pre planned maintenance schedules are kept up to date and maintained as may be required
- Complete the duties of an HVAC/Mechanical/Electrical Engineer in accordance with recognised training and qualifications
- Carry out fault finding and defect rectification to items of installed plant and equipment as may be defined and specified
- Escort contractors around the site as and when required in accordance with written procedures
What you’ll need to do the job
First and foremost, the successful post holder must hold a HVAC/Mechanical (C&G, NVQ)
- electrical qualification desirable
You will be confident prioritising workloads, flexible and proactive, with a commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement to working approach.
Finally, flexibility is a must – you will be a team member of the Facilities “Out of hours” call out roster.
