The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.

• Analyzes, plans, programs, and coordinates projects including scope of work, designs, specifications, advisability and functional impact analysis, feasibility studies, budget and cost estimates, and scheduling.
• Reviews, evaluates, corrects and/or approves design concepts, contract specifications, cost proposals including direct labor and other costs, and materials submitted by contractors under IRS or GSA contracts for completeness, accuracy, adherence to IRS standards, code compliance and effectiveness for project.
• Serves in an advisory capacity to key official in the field and/or headquarters offices as well as other government agencies for electrical engineering standards. Initiates electrical engineering projects, which require innovative and original concepts to enhance the customer's improvement programs for general and special purpose type space. Prepares and presents status reports on assigned projects.
• Monitors contractor's performance of technical aspects of contract to assure that performance is strictly within the terms, conditions, and scope of contract. Reviews contractor invoices. Certifies acceptance and recommends payment if they accurately reflect contract deliverables completed and accepted.

This position is located in the Civil Division which includes the following sections and units:
- Defensive Litigation involves defending an array of civil cases brought against the United States, its agencies, and its employees. Cases include employment discrimination; personal injury/tort; medical malpractice claims arising out of Veterans' hospitals or other federally funded health facilities; Bivens actions; Freedom of Information Act challenges; and claims related to decisions by immigration authorities as to legal status, deportation or detention of aliens.
- Affirmative Civil Enforcement Litigation ACE cases are most often brought for the United States under the False Claims Act and involve allegations of health care fraud, procurement fraud, grant fraud and financial fraud. The cases are frequently associated with parallel criminal proceedings, requiring coordination between the ACE AUSA and the criminal AUSA. ACE AUSAs also represent the United States in the enforcement of the Controlled Substances Act as well civil rights laws.

Civil AUSAs have the privilege of standing in Court and stating that they represent the United States of America. The selected Civil AUSA will be handling a wide range of civil litigation, including defensive litigation and affirmative civil enforcement on behalf of government agencies located in the district. The selected Civil AUSA will exercise a high degree of autonomy and enjoy firsthand litigation experience in representing the United States including handling depositions, motion practice, hearings, mediations, trials and appeals. Civil AUSAs develop litigation strategies for their own cases with support from supervisors and experienced Assistant U.S. Attorneys.

The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) 2nd Range Operations Squadron at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA is searching for a Range Engineer (NH-0855-03, GS 12/13 equivalent).

Description:
As Range Engineer you would serve as the lead government technical expert for all Western Range instrumentation assets supporting launch and test operations and are at the forefront of emerging technologies and expanding test and launch needs of the DoD/commercial industries. This is a unique position that combines detailed mission planning and technical understanding with real-time console support. You serve as a subject matter expert for a wide range of instrumentation including telemetry, radar, command transmitter and communication systems and how this system of systems interfaces with launch and test users at the Western Range. This knowledge is used to aid in making time critical decisions on console to direct actions to resolve issues and make recommendations to leadership during launch and test support, ultimately ensuring public safety and user requirements are met. You are also involved in the acquisition process for new instrumentation, providing operational technical inputs to these projects and oversee contractors and their support.

The ideal candidate should possess Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Systems. Familiarity with Western Range instrumentation systems such as telemetry, radar, command transmitter, and communication systems, or experience with similar systems. Operational console experience during launch/test operations. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to make technical recommendations while under time critical situations. Root cause investigative experience desired. Highly self-motivated with ability to adapt and learn. • You will serve as a MECHANICAL ENGINEER in the CRANE ENGINEERING SECTION (CODE 211) of the WATERFRONT SUPPORT DEPARTMENT (CODE 200) TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY (TRIREFFAC) located in KINGS BAY, GA.
• You will be assigned as a Crane Mechanical Engineering liaison representative between TRIREFFAC Crane Engineering Branch and other departments, commands, etc.
• You will provide field investigation, including accident evaluations for accomplishment of design, maintenance, operation, inspection, testing, overhaul and alterations in accordance with NAVFAC P-307 and other guidance.

You will:

• Serve as a technical advisor to the Section Supervisor and Branch Supervisor.
