An enthusiastic Electrical Building Services Design Engineer who has excellent project management skills and qualifications with experience of electrical design for building services to work within the Mechanical & Electrical Team in the Asset Management Building Design Team at Lancashire County Council.
Our Asset Management Service is a multidisciplinary and specialised team delivering a comprehensive Capital programme which invests in the county council's property and highway assets including schools, libraries, museums and offices. Our Building Design team has an array of experts including Architects and Architectural Technicians, Structural Engineers, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and Building Services Engineers. We are searching for a Electrical Engineer for a design and specification focussed role.
What we are looking for…
Creative and Ambitious Electrical Design Engineer with experience in electrical design for building services – You'll be a creative thinker who can work as part of a small, established team working on a whole host of building projects – you'll manage from conception to completion whilst using your knowledge to contribute to team's performance each step of the way. You will develop designs for elements such as LV distribution, EV charging, power generation, small power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, nurse call systems, lightning protection, controls etc. in accordance with current guidelines, standards and regulations. You'll support the Electrical Project Manager and lead or support on a variety of projects – your specialist knowledge will contribute to the management of project budgets, health and safety, surveying and more – you'll be confident and self-assured, with the ability to communicate with a range of technical specialists and partners and your assertive yet diplomatic approach will ensure projects are delivered in a timely, safe and professional manner
Innovation – You'll be a specialist in electrical design for building services and be passionate about sustainability and carbon reduction measures – your innovative approach will contribute to the decarbonisation of Lancashire's wider infrastructure with projects such as replacing ageing heating systems with air to water heat pumps, installing solar panels etc. – our aim by 2030 is to have made significant reductions in our carbon footprint and achieve further climate change targets so your influence and contribution to this strategy will be invaluable to our team
Challenge – You'll be excellent at electrical design for building services and able to positively challenge external partners and the multidisciplinary teams with which you work – you'll also be confident at challenging processes and procedures to ensure legislative and strategic requirements are met - we're looking for someone to drive and deliver projects – so you'll be calm under pressure, purposeful in your approach and tactful with each challenge you overcome
