About the Role

The role is based in the Corporate Programme Management Office which forms part of the Chief Executives Directorate. The prime function of the role is to manage the Tram Private Finance Initiative contract on behalf of the Authority . The postholder will be responsible for liaising with the tram operator, as well as various directorates within the Authority to provide responses to contract queries as well as responding to planning requests received from developments along the tram route. There may be exciting opportunities to become involved in any future extension to the tram network.

In addition, the successful applicant will be the main contact for appropriate Committee meetings and be responsible for addressing queries from Council Members and the general public on tram related matters.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Comprehensive knowledge and experience of managing long term complex contracts, preferably private finance initiative contracts, ideally including management of payment mechanisms, performance frameworks and long-term contractor relationships.

· Be highly numerate and literate to produce written reports and interpret statistical data.

· Knowledge of the planning and legislative framework for transportation projects, including light rail.

· Ability to conduct contractual negotiations of a commercial and/or technical nature, and to resolve issues that arise.

· Knowledge and experience of recognised project management methods and techniques in the development of major transport projects.

· Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information orally and in writing in a clear and precise manner.

Role: Electrical Site Engineer (Solar PV and/or BESS)

The Role:
I am currently recruiting for proven degree qualified Electrical Site Engineers for permanent / staff positions in the UK. To be considered for my client's construction management team the Electrical Site Engineers s will need to demonstrate experience in the EPC of large-scale renewable energy projects. The Site Engineers will work closely under my Client's Project Management team to manage the on-site operations during the construction period to ensure on schedule completion and compliance with the company's quality standards.

Your role will involve, but not be limited to:

• Pre-condition site surveys
• Initial site setup and establishment (supported by the Site Manager)
• Identification of local resources, materials, services
• Assist the Site Manager with establishment and ongoing management of welfare and waste facilities, as well as plant hire (as required)
• Ongoing management of the on-site operations
• Ensure correct implementation of construction drawings by the main Subcontractor
• Supervise subcontractors schedule and works
• Report to the Project Manager any deviations from the PoW or scope by the subcontractors
• Quantity and quality receipt of on-site materials from main equipment and local suppliers
• Manage construction flow and timetable
• Provide technical support and guidance, solving on site problems
• Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly progress reports and documentation for internal use and Client requirements
• Ensure compliance with QH&SE procedures
• Management of site finishing works and demobilisation

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
You will be expected to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Ability to interpret construction drawings is essential.
• Knowledge of AUTOCAD is considered an advantage.
• 3+ years of working experience in the construction of utility scale renewable energy projects (a proven track record in the construction of utility scale battery storage projects is considered an advantage)
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to travel and stay away from home
• Open to applicants who are legally entitled to work in the UK

You will be working for an established equipment manufacturer who supplies the engineering industry. The business's equipment is used by many leading engineering businesses to clean their components.
Your new role
As a Service Engineer you will undertake customer service engineering activities. Duties will include machine installations, commissioning, servicing, refurbishment and customer training.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Preparation for customer visits
• Engineers should also collate all necessary documentation such as electrical and pneumatic schematics, manuals, software, leads and tools etc necessary for the job
• Working with the Design department and other departments on projects
• Undertaking service duties individually and as a team.
• Responsible for complying with all company and customer health and safety policies
• Completing service reports summarising what work has been done and which parts have been used after each assignment
• Undertaking mechanical, pneumatic and electrical maintenance tasks
• Testing and cleaning machinery
• Explaining work completed to customers and giving guidance
• Training of customer maintenance and operating staff

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience in electrical, mechanical and pneumatic maintenance
• Experience in a similar Field Service or Maintenance role
• Good communicator and team player
• Willingness to travel and spend nights away from home
• Driving licence

What you need to do now
This role is UK focused, where you will travel as part of your role across the UK and occasionally overseas, expenses will be paid as part of the role as necessary. You will also need to be prepared to stay overnight in hotels on occasion and potentially work long days and weekends to carry out service duties when required. The successful Engineer will be provided with a van, laptop and mobile phone to undertake the role.
