Our engineering specialist client based in Merseyside is currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team.

This is a full time, permanent role based in Liverpool, offering between £45,000 - £55,000 for the right person.

The purpose of the role is to manage projects and to deal with all technical and construction issues relating to the Mechanical installation. You would also be required to attend monthly design meetings, assess contractor valuations, carry out site inspections, witness test installations and issue snagging reports.

You will have the ability to take a project from conception through to completion using prepared client brief documents as well as the ability to produce proposal documents. You should be able to convert this information into a working set of Mechanical drawings and Mechanical specifications both for tender and construction.

Candidates will be expected to:

• Have up to 8 years experience within an M&E Consulting environment.
• Be HNC or degree qualified. Chartered or working towards chartership.
• Have working knowledge of Autocad/Revit and IES.
• Lead schemes from inception through to completion and work to deadlines.
• Be capable of producing high quality Mechanical Services Design.
• Be a strong team player, who takes pride in their work and wants to progress their career.
• Help with the development of younger members of staff.

What you'll need to succeed

• Ability to evidence broad and proven structural design experience in core materials: concrete, steel, masonry and timber
• Ability to evidence a breadth of UK based structural design and investigation experience
• Excellent communication skills, in both written and spoken English
• MIStructE / MICE Chartered membership is preferred, but is not essential for the right candidate with strong evidence and a proven track record
• A desire to progress within a forward-thinking structural team, to assist with the running of the team and to directly contribute to the teams planned growth

What will you be doing?

- Working with experienced colleagues, particularly the estimators/quantity surveyors to assess project scope and viability against which they will develop project costs and support the development of tender content.
- Take the initiative on working on Projects with our experienced Contract and Site Managers to develop operational knowledge of Infrastructure deconstruction.
- Supporting the business in meeting contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Learn to progress the projects through their entire lifecycle, including feasibility, development, implementation and handover - This will involve scoping, designing, management of the supply chain and handover to the user.
- Work directly with engineers and operators on the plant and support operational and maintenance activities.

A well-established Mechanical and Electrical Engineering practice based in Liverpool, with over 30 years of experience, is seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team. Known for delivering innovative M&E designs across a range of projects, from bespoke schemes to multi-million-pound developments, the firm has a strong reputation for quality in both the public and private sectors. This is a full time, permanent role offering up to £40K per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Electrical Design: Prepare small power and data layouts, fire alarm system designs, and lighting designs including calculations and light fitting selections.
• Produce lighting schedules and containment drawings.
• Develop strategies for security systems (CCTV, Intruder Alarm, Staff Attack), access control, nurse call, and assisted living warden call systems.
• Draw up main electrical distribution schematics and specialist schematics (lighting, data, security, etc.).
• Calculate cable sizing using appropriate software and produce distribution board schedules.
• Prepare general arrangement (GA) layouts of services and photovoltaic panel designs.
• Write detailed electrical specifications.

Cad / Revit Proficiency:

• Understand company standards and layouts.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit drawing protocols to produce basic layout drawings from sketches.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an M&E consulting environment.
• HNC or degree qualified (recent graduates will also be considered).
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Familiar with using Amtech software to support electrical design.
• Strong team player with a commitment to high-quality work and career progression.
• Comfortable attending client meetings and working to deadlines.

What you'll be doing;

• Compliance with all Veolia and H&S policies and procedures.
  
• Provide site EC&I maintenance support on a days basis.
  
• Safe isolations of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  
• Overhaul & testing of the site's EC&I equipment
  
• Inspection, testing and service of all site electrical equipment
  
• Fixed wiring defect repair of all site electrical equipment.
  
• Fault diagnosis and resolution of EC&I problems across site.
  
• Calibration of site instrumentation equipment.
  
• Installation & commissioning of minor EC&I projects.
  
• Assist with mechanical breakdowns.
  
• Work with the site team to efficiently resolve repeat problems.
  
• Involvement in health and safety audits and improvements.
  
• Involvement in continuous improvement activities.
  
• Use of organisational CMMS system
  

What we're looking for;

• Time served as an electrical engineer.
  
• Ideally CompEx 1-4 qualified.
  
• Experienced in fault finding 4-20mA, single and 3 phase systems.
  
• Proficient in process control instruments such as control valves and level sensors.
  
• Good understanding of inverters, PID controllers and SCADA.
  
• Basic mechanical comprehension to assist with breakdowns.

1. Handle Service Desk telephone calls, recording all new incidents using the minimum dataset, and updating existing incident records with any new information received.2. Monitor other communication routes to the Service Desk, eg mailbox, self-service tool, ensuring new incidents are recorded, and customer queries are dealt with promptly.3. Categorise and prioritise incidents and service requests according to guidelines detailed in the Incident management process.4. Provide 1st line support, resolving the majority of incidents at first point of contact, using remote support tools where applicable to achieve this.5. Resolve Incidents not resolved at first point of contact due to the lengthy nature of the fix and, where requested, assist with the 2nd-line support queue6. Assign unresolved Incidents to the appropriate specialist resolver group.7. Log incidents with third party vendors, and take ownership of third party incidents until resolution.8. Liaise with the Connecting for Health Service Desk (or LSP) to raise incidents relating to National Applications: completion of Triage Forms; monitoring and tracking of all Incidents raised with the CfH Service Desk until resolved.9. Responsible for monitoring and tracking ALL Incidents and Service Requests ensuring Incidents are resolved within Service Level Targets10. Communicate updates and service disruptions to users, selecting the most appropriate communication tool, e.g. email, intranet, and providing an estimated resolution time, if possible11. Escalate Major Incidents to the appropriate team, and contribute to Major Incident Reviews, where appropriate12. Identify multiple instances of incidents of a similar nature, and escalate to the appropriate team13. Record appropriate resolution details in the service management software, selecting the relevant resolution categories contributing to the IM Knowledge Base.14. Resolve incidents, where possible, ensuring the customer is satisfied beforehand 15. Conduct User Satisfaction surveys under the instruction of the Service Desk Manager16. The post holder will be required to perform Active Directory administration duties, including password resets & account administration. This may include adding and administering permissions and security groups17. The post holder will be required to perform Email (inc MS Exchange, NHS Mail) administration duties including, but not limited to, mailbox creation, updating email distribution groups and adding and administering Public Folders & Calendars 18. The post holder may be required to provide training to new starters or less experienced Service Desk staff.19. The post holder may be given the opportunity to work as part of a 24hr Service desk which would involve evening and night work.
