As a Structural Engineer your responsibilities will include:

- Conducting site inspections and assessing existing structures for repair and/or replacement

This is a field based reactive role, working from home covering a region as part of a team. Job: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Preston

Salary: £40,000 per annum

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our clients team working on one of their manufacturing sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of mechanical equipment on-site, ensuring all work is completed in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Main Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on building services equipment.
• Perform reactive and emergency breakdown tasks as allocated.
• Conduct inspections, fault finding, and diagnosis of mechanical equipment.
• Ensure all tasks are completed according to agreed service levels.
• Complete job sheets electronically using a tablet or smartphone.
• Maintain site-based records and logbooks.
• Perform general cleaning and housekeeping to maximise the life expectancy of all equipment.
• Work proactively to reduce energy consumption on client sites and recommend improvements.
• Adhere to all health, safety, compliance, and local policies and procedures.
• Complete site inductions and assist with the sign-in process for sub-contractors, ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Permits to Work are in place.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience in mechanical maintenance and building services.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Proficiency in using tablets and smartphones for job-related tasks.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and compliance regulations.

They are currently recruiting for Principal EC&I Engineer with scope to progress to engineering manager. The ideal candidate will have EC&I experience within the nuclear sector but open to other sectors.
Your new role

• Establishing customer requirements and production of user requirement and technical specifications.
• Allocating resources appropriate to their skills, experience and qualifications to execute engineering and design activities.
• Coordinating and supervising engineers and designers, and providing technical guidance in the planning and execution of engineering and design activities.
• Ensuring the technical quality of all engineering design deliverables and applied processes are undertaken in accordance with relevant company procedures.
• Conducting engineering studies, investigations, and producing reports.
• Ensuring projects are completed in a cost-effective and timely manner, in accordance with project budgets and programmes.
• Maintaining awareness of technological developments and industry trends.

What you'll need to succeed

• Ideally a number of years working in roles where knowledge of engineering was a key attribute.
• Ideally a number of years working within a regulated and quality assured system (preferably nuclear) in roles reliant upon professional engineering judgement.
• Ideally some experience of working in a position where design was a major part of the role.
• Expertise demonstrable in one or more specific specialist areas relevant to the engineering discipline with a track record of successful application of specialist knowledge or skills.
• Ability to provide leadership in a key area within an engineering function and act as a custodian of resource and expertise.
• Engineering experience demonstrating a record of successful delivery, including positions influencing professional engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery of engineering work packages.
• Ability to provide strategic guidance based on knowledge and experience of projects across a portfolio to inform and direct projects and programmes.
