About The Role




We are looking for an electrical design engineer who can provide expertise to support the engineering team with the design of electrical equipment for a range of industrial applications. This will include electrical best practice and implementation of industry standards. This is a pivotal role to the business as the design team continue to develop innovative solutions to meet customer specifications and develop products for new market applications.

Produce design calculations and corresponding paperwork to manufacture designs (resistor element and design overview sheets).

About You



At least 5 years electrical design work preferably with medium and high voltage design experience.
Qualified to degree level in electrical engineering.

A high level of competency with Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical is required.
A CAD software package such as Autodesk Inventor, Creo, Siemens would be an advantage.

Job Details

• Co-owner of our steerage model, ensuring repair vs total loss decisions are based on the best indemnity and customer outcomes
  
• Contributing and executing an engineering strategy which delivers engineering services at the lowest appropriate and class-leading cost
  
• Using data to enable fast and effective decision making for the whole team to drive change, identifying and mitigating risks associated with all changes and recommendations
  
• Building key stakeholder relationships to allow the smooth implementation of change as quickly and effectively as possible
  
• Continuously striving to conduct as much engineering as possible internally, whilst managing the performance and costs of external engineering suppliers
  
• Leading a re-rating of our know your opponent intelligence - working with claims colleagues to ensure that any KYO strategy lands
  
  
  

Skills we would love you to have

• Knowledge & experience of the UK Motor repair market, including a good understanding of claims and risk management principles and practices
  
• A technical understanding in the principles of motor body repair methods and knowledge of motor insurance/subrogation
  
• Strong commercial acumen (especially around cost mitigation) and comfortable with innovation and disruption, whilst evolving current practices

You will be working for a well-established BuildingServices consultancy, who work in an expansive portfolio of sectors whichinclude; high-end residential, education, commercial and heritage. Your new role
Your main purpose ofthe role is the design of electrical engineering for building services.
In this role, you willbe:

• Managing multiple projects and prioritising workload meet all assigned deadlines
• Surveying and reporting on electrical systems in buildings
• Prepare technical specifications and drawings using industry-standard software
• Undertaking design calculations
• Design electrical installations to meet British Standards
• Developing design proposals at sketch, detailed design and production stages
• Preparing tender documentation and reports
• Demonstrate a passion for electrical design engineering and a willingness to learn
• Support senior members of staff in managing client and design team relationships

You will need toundertake other duties as may be required to achieve objectives.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have electrical design experience.
You will need:
Experience in Electrical

• HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in Building Services or related subject
• Experience in design software e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Dialux, Relux
• Experience contributing to design team meetings
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• To be willing to travel

Role Overview:

The company are seeking a skilled and experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join their team on a permanent, mobile basis, dealing with contracts Nationwide. The role primarily involves servicing and maintaining air handling units (AHUs), chillers, split systems, and direct expansion (DX) systems, specifically related to specialist medical equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrics and controls and will be able to complete high-standard service and maintenance work. On-call will be required due to the criticality of the work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on air conditioning and cooling systems.
• Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on chillers, AHUs, split systems, and DX systems.
• Maintain comprehensive records of HVAC equipment, including F-Gas compliance.
• Diagnose and repair system faults and leaks.
• Collaborate with electrical and building services teams, including BMS (Building Management Systems).
• Provide technical advice and recommendations on AC and cooling systems where necessary.
• Willingness to travel nationwide and occasionally stay overnight.

Candidate Requirement:

• Minimum 4 years' experience in service and reactive air conditioning maintenance, with some PPM exposure.
• Expertise in air conditioning, chiller, and DX system maintenance.
• Basic electrical knowledge and experience in general building services.
• Strong customer-facing skills; articulate and presentable.
• IT literate, with good data-keeping skills (F-Gas record management).
• Relevant qualifications (C&G/NVQ in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration).
• F-Gas 2079 certification (safe handling of refrigerants).
• Valid UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working with medical imaging equipment and cooling systems.
• Familiarity with NHS and private medical facilities.
• Additional electrical and BMS experience.
• Manufacturer training and certifications (additional training provided if needed).
• Experience using job allocation systems, such as Clik (training will be provided).
