Our client is a leading FMCG manufacturer, that has seen a great amount of investment into the site and a recent new production line installed. Due to their continued growth and further investment/expansion plans, they are looking for a multi-skilled shift engineer, electrically biased.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Carry out both preventative and planned maintenance, both electrically & mechanically
• Working on high-speed production, packaging and automated machinery
• Dealing with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, sensors, electrical isolation, inverters, pneumatics, servo drives, control panels, pumps, compressors, steam & boiler systems
• PLC - electrical fault finding on Siemens & Allen Bradley
• SCADA Systems - electrical fault finding
• Continuous improvement projects and new machinery installations and modification work
• Prioritise workload to maximise efficiency of production lines, whilst monitoring data
• Be able to work mechanically on various pipework, fabrication & fault finding

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Must be a multi-skilled engineer, electrically biased
• City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical is a minimum requirement
• Must have worked in high-speed production - food, FMCG manufacturing environments
• Completed a time-served apprenticeship
• Minimum 5 years' experience as an engineer in manufacturing
• Beneficial to have City & Guilds 2391 Electrical Test & Inspection
• PLC & SCADA Systems - electrical fault finding
• Beneficial to have 17th or 18th Edition Electrical
• Strong team player with a continuous improvement approach
• A good level of mechanical skills - dealing with pipework, gearboxes, drives, pumps, etc
• Able to follow P&ID, electrical & mechanical drawings
• Have the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a pressurised environment effectively
• Comfortable and confident with sometimes working on your own initiative on shift
• Strong communication skills
• Must have access to own transportation due to location of the factory

Responsibilities for the Commercial Gas Engineer will include:



Service, maintenance and breakdown of commercial gas and solid fuel heating systems

Installs work required at times

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance

Undertake PPM activity

Complete paperwork including production of technical and situational reports.

Report all accidents, near miss events or potential hazards

Undertake all other maintenance works within remit

Participate in out of hours works, including overtime & 24 hour call out as per the rota

What we are looking for in our ideal Commercial Gas Engineer:

The right person for this role will have a solid background in Commercial gas and

heating as well as all relevant commercial gas qualifications NVQ Level 2/3 or

equivalent. CODNCO1, COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1, TCP1A, CCN1,

CENWAT and applicable domestic qualifications. COMCAT, CCCN1, CCLNG1

OFTEC, LPG, ASHP, UNVENTED and Solar/Renewable qualifications are desirable

but not essential. Excellent gas knowledge of current gas legislation and regulations

Local authority/ social housing experience with knowledge of a variety of Commercial/Domestic appliances and installations

Possess comprehensive technical skills along with extensive experience in commercial fault finding and rectification.

Comprehensive knowledge, both domestic and commercial of most major manufactures i.e. Valliant Powermatic, Riello, Broag, Combat, Ambi-Rad, Ideal, Potterton, Nu Way and Worcester etc.

Good all-round knowledge of heating systems with controls/BMS knowledge desirable.

Good plumbing skills.

Full driving license.

Working with site plan to manage any long-term repairs and ensure short-term fixes in place to meet production demands, ensuring all work complies with Electricity at work regulations to meet safety standards. There will be regular maintenance on boilers, pressure systems including steam, condensate and air, and you will ensure all works carried out are recorded in daily maintenance log and on the Assets Master System. Work permits are issued to any site contractors and any relevant isolation certificates, all spare parts are updated, and critical spares are available for any breakdowns.

Ideally, you will have completed a full apprenticeship in manufacturing engineering, or qualified to NVQ/C&G level 3 in maintenance engineering including electrical engineering.

Responsibilities for the Commercial Gas Engineer will include:



Service, maintenance and breakdown of commercial gas and solid fuel heating systems

Installs work required at times

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance

Undertake PPM activity

Complete paperwork including production of technical and situational reports.

Report all accidents, near miss events or potential hazards

Undertake all other maintenance works within remit

Participate in out of hours works, including overtime & 24 hour call out as per the rota

What we are looking for in our ideal Commercial Gas Engineer:

The right person for this role will have a solid background in Commercial gas and

heating as well as all relevant commercial gas qualifications NVQ Level 2/3 or

equivalent. CODNCO1, COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1, TCP1A, CCN1,

CENWAT and applicable domestic qualifications. COMCAT, CCCN1, CCLNG1

OFTEC, LPG, ASHP, UNVENTED and Solar/Renewable qualifications are desirable

but not essential. Excellent gas knowledge of current gas legislation and regulations

Local authority/ social housing experience with knowledge of a variety of Commercial/Domestic appliances and installations

Possess comprehensive technical skills along with extensive experience in commercial fault finding and rectification.

Comprehensive knowledge, both domestic and commercial of most major manufactures i.e. Valliant Powermatic, Riello, Broag, Combat, Ambi-Rad, Ideal, Potterton, Nu Way and Worcester etc.

Good all-round knowledge of heating systems with controls/BMS knowledge desirable.

Good plumbing skills.

Full driving license.

DIMENSIONS:

UK Power Networks is expanding its presence in Microsoft Azure and enhancing its on-prem OT Mission Critical Systems. It is necessary that a secure environment is developed for the hosting and management of our critical information assets. We ask that you have a blend of skillsets across cyber security including solution design, configuration, implementation, operation, governance, change management, communications, and the understanding of protecting data in employing the use of relevant encryption standards. The main measure of success is maintaining regulatory compliance and improving the technical and organisational resilience of UKPN concerning the ever-changing cyber threat landscape.

• People - work collaboratively in a team of circa 8 permanent and temporary cyber security architecture resources.

• Financial - no direct budget responsibility.

• Suppliers - regular interaction with 3rd party service providers, specialist technical consultants and cyber security tooling vendors.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Ensure highest standards of safety are applied across all responsibilities.

2. Implement the cyber security plans, technology roadmaps based on sound cyber security best practices to help implement UK Power Networks Cyber Security Strategy ensuring alignment to the company vision, values, and strategic goals.

3. Support the Cyber Security Architects, research new security technologies, toolsets, and solutions for both OT and Enterprise on-prem and cloud infrastructures.

4. Work as an important partner with third party vendors to design and implement proof of concept (PoC) cyber security solutions and evaluate against strict requirements and criteria following UK Power Networks policies and the cyber security technology roadmap.

5. Evaluate existing cyber security solutions within the enterprise to ensure that they are fit for purpose and that the solutions have been designed and implemented to gain maximum benefit and capability.

6. Support the Cyber Security Teams at a technical level to install cyber security product technologies and systems, such as firewalls, end point protection, encryption, VPN, SIEM, PAM, VM etc.

7. Support the Cyber Security Teams to drive effective root cause analysis of cyber security related incidents to ensure prompt action is taken to prevent incident reoccurrence and strengthen relevant cyber security controls.

8. Provide technical guidance and assurance to the wider information systems teams concerning the implementation of cyber security controls within the specified design principles.

Continuous improvement, customer service and seamless delivery is at the heart of this ethos and are therefore strongly underpinned by effective cyber security.

You will work with five disciplines within the Cyber Security Team, Enterprise Architecture, Technical Teams, IT Service Providers, Project, Innovation, and partners to implement and improve the security infrastructure, systems, and services.

Qualifications:

1. Work experience: Experience in cyber security, preferably in a security engineering or a security architecture role. Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions for multiple platforms, and using various security technologies and performing security testing and analysis.

2. Cyber Security Knowledge: An understanding of the principles and standards of cyber security, such as encryption, authentication, authorization, network security, application security, cloud security, and threat intelligence.

3. Security Solutions Design: Ability to design and implement security solutions that meet the requirements and goals. Analyse the security requirements, identify the security gaps, and propose the best security architectures to address them. Evaluate the costs, benefits, and trade-offs of different security solutions and make recommendations based on the UK Power Networks Policies, Standards and Security Patterns.

4. Security Tools and Technologies: Proficient in using multiple security technologies, such as firewalls, end point protection, intrusion detection and prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, encryption software, VPNs, and SIEMs. Be able to configure, test, deploy, and troubleshoot these tools and technologies and integrate them with other systems. Monitor and analyse the security logs and alerts generated by these tools and technologies and take appropriate actions.

5. Cyber Security Frameworks: Working knowledge of Cyber Essentials, ISO27001:2022, CSA Cloud Controls Matrix, NCSC CAF and GDPR, is important to ensure that data is being managed in a compliant manner.

6. Programming and scripting: Proficient programming and scripting skills to automate security tasks, develop custom security scripts and tools, and perform security testing and analysis. Familiar with some of the common programming and scripting languages used in cyber security, such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java, C#, and SQL.

7. Certifications: Relevant certifications in cyber security, such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, SSCP, or CCSP. Further technical certifications in Microsoft Azure, Networking, Firewall, SIEM, PAM or VM Products are beneficial.

8. Technical Capabilities: Technical competence in one or more of the following areas: Industrial Protocols (DNP3, ICCP, IEC-61850), IPSec VPN's, Networking, Network Security, RADIUS, MFA, Microsoft/Linux Operating Systems, Virtualization Platforms such as (VMware, Hyper-V, OpenShift), Cloud Security in Azure, PKI and Certificates.

The Role


The Design Authority within the licensee organisation is responsible for maintaining design integrity and the overall safety case throughout the full lifecycle of the nuclear power plant.
As a Safety Case Engineer, you will support the development of the safety case and provide solutions to challenging issues to support the constructing, commissioning, and operation of the new reactors. Fulfilling the Intelligent Customer role on behalf of the licensee, you will have the opportunity to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including the overseas suppliers and UK regulators, on the adequacy of safety case and safety case deliverables in an international project environment.

Principal Accountabilities:


- To understand the safety case especially those elements related to safety studies, and in particular internal & external hazards;
- Be able to explain to others the general provisions for protection of the power station from faults and hazards;
- Production or review of design basis safety studies (in particular hazards analysis);
- To develop or review strategies and methodologies for managing and assessing risks from internal and external hazards;
- Support the development of processes for safety case management, modification control and configuration control;
- Manage the production and development of the sections of the site-specific safety case;
- Work effectively and maintain a strong relationship with the nuclear regulators in the areas of safety case management and the hazards safety case;
- Co-ordinate the resolution of SZC site specific issues between the SZC project and wider hazards specialists within the EDF group.
- Co-ordinate support from other external organisations.
