Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an IT Project Engineer to be at the forefront of delivering high-quality IT infrastructure and cloud solutions.
About the role:
The post holder's role will involve close collaboration with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes and seamless integration of technologies.
Other responsibilities include:
- Technical Specification and Implementation: Gathering client requirements, creating specifications, and developing project plans. Designing and implementing network, server, storage, and cloud solutions
- Configuration of IT Infrastructure: Configuring and optimising routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and storage devices. Managing virtualisation environments (Hyper-V and Azure Virtual Desktop)
- Understanding and Documenting Existing IT Infrastructure: Assessing and documenting current IT setups, identifying areas for performance, security, and reliability improvements
- Improvement Planning: Developing IT improvement plans and roadmaps, recommending upgrades, migrations, and optimisations
- Project Management: Ensuring timely project delivery within scope and budget. Providing technical expertise and resolving issues
- Accreditations: Assisting clients in achieving Cyber Essentials accreditation, including assessments and vulnerability scans
- Helpdesk Support: Providing level 3 technical support, resolving complex issues, and mentoring helpdesk staff
The Ideal Candidate:
They are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Project Engineer who can deliver excellent customer service, you must also have:
- Strong technical knowledge in networking, servers, storage, virtualisation, and security.
- Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure projects
- Ability to assess and improve existing IT infrastructures
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNP, VCP) are desirable
- Customer-focused with a strong service orientation
