Your Role: The Data Engineer will be a senior resource responsible for delivering clean, clear, and well-articulated data in support of various functions in the organization to ensure we are proactively delivering the right products and capabilities to our members.
Your work:
Responsible for tactical ownership and hands-on design implementation, and support of components within your teams projects.
Collaborates with leads and architects to establish a technical vision for your team, define best practices, analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs and make the right decisions to ensure your teams future success.
Solve difficult, complex real-world problems, by understanding them and translating them into feasible solutions that can be implemented by you and your team.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and business partners to understand the needs of the business and our customers and create stories to deliver the right solutions to our customers.
Design, implement, and deploy software components to solve difficult problems generating positive feedback.
Insist on relentlessly high standards by promoting a culture of fully automated testing and continuously releasing top quality software using automation and monitoring.
Focus on operational excellence, constructively identifying problems and proposing solutions, taking on projects that improve your team’s software, making it better and easier to maintain.
Required Experience, Education and Skills:
5+ years' successful professional experience in the design, delivery, and support of complex projects across web platforms & mobile applications.
2+ years' deep and direct hands-on experience with the specific technologies used in the teams systems/solutions.
Bachelor of Science (B.S.); Bachelor's degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience
What would make us excited about you?
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Keep our data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and AWS regions.
Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
Minimum of 2 years experience with Big Data Technologies such as SnowFlake, including SnowPipe and SnowPark.
Expert level experience in writing complex SQL Queries.
Demonstrable experience in Python, Spark, or Scala.
Solid understanding of Data Lake architecture, including implementing data security at enterprise scale.
Strong understanding of SAFe Agile Methodologies and best practices.
Actively shapes our company culture (e.g., participating in employee resource groups, volunteering, etc.)
Lives into cultural norms (e.g., willing to have cameras when it matters: helping onboard new team members, building relationships, etc.)
Travels as needed for role, including divisional / team meetings and other in-person meetings.

The national average salary range for this position is $129,780-144,200.
However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges
vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $116,910 – $173,200. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 10% of eligible pay.
