The Role
As a Senior Cost Controller, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Developing and agree scope/budgets for projects and/or programmes and controlling forecast and actual costs against them. This includes the provision of risk & opportunity analysis on these budgets and change management.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for applying requirements management, budgeting & cost control, financial management, change management and benefits management independently primarily in complex situations across P3M:

• Develop / implement and maintain the Project Baseline Budgets incl Control Account Plans/Responsibility Assignment Matrix and WBS Dictionary (SOW).
• Responsible for the monitor, control and validation of project's accruals and commitments and the control of resource and financial forecast data.
• Management and control of cost risk budget and drawdown and input into the risk management process.
• Management and control of financial change management on the project and assurance of alignment with the business/contractual requirements.
• Provision of internal and external financial performance & cost reports including earned value and variation analysis.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel to Warrington or Preston, on a weekly / monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential Experience of the Senior Cost Engineer:

• Significant experience of applying budgeting & cost control in a complex environment.
• Extensive recent and relevant experience in a similar environment / business sector.
• Awareness of various contracting methodologies (e.g. FIDIC / NEC / JCT etc…) including resolution of claims and disputes.
• Advanced knowledge of cost management techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of Earned Value Management.

Qualifications for the Senior Cost Engineer:

• Ideally, you'll possess a HNC level qualification (or equivalent / similar) in cost engineering or quantity surveying but, this is not essential.
• ECITB QCF Level 5 Diploma in Cost Engineering (Cost Control) or, a professional qualification and membership (eg APM/Acoste/RICS) (or equivalent / similar) is desired but, not required.

Security Clearance

This position is a temporary to permanent role.

The Client

Our client is a large main contractor who operates nationwide and works alongside councils, housing associations and insurance companies.

The Role

Main duties as a Gas Engineer can vary on a day to day basis which consist of -

• Installs, breakdowns and servicing in tenanted and void properties
• Customer Service skills - resolving any issues that may arise and working with vulnerable tenants

The working hours are 40 hours per week.

Market Leading Civil Engineering Groundworks contractor based near Crewe now looking for a Site Engineer to join their expanding Ops team. This prominent sub-contractor specialises in groundworking projects for new build projects and sites.

About the role : Site Engineer

As the Site Engineer you'll report to the Contracts manager and be a part of the groundworks setting out team.

The housebuilder clients you will be contracting for are the likes of; Redrow, Taylor Wimpey, and more! Operating on various sizes of New build site - projects valued between £12mill - £20mill.

Responsibilities for Site Engineer

• managing parts of construction projects.
• overseeing construction work.
• undertaking surveys.
• setting out sites.
• Travelling to sites across Northwest
• checking technical designs and drawings for accuracy and to ensure that they are followed correctly.
• supervising contracted staff.
• ensuring project packages meet agreed specifications, budgets and/or timescales.
• liaising with clients, subcontractors, local authority employees, architects and other professionals, especially quantity surveyors and the overall project manager.
• providing technical advice and solving problems on site.
• preparing site reports and logging progress.
• ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to.

Requirements for Site Engineer

• Previous experience setting out the groundworks portion on a new house building project
• Previous experience working for a civil engineering contractor
• Full UK drivers license
• Civil Engineering Qualification (HND minimum)

· Leading the delivery of technical fire engineering and safety projects in a range of high risk industries, to include

· Facilitating fire hazard study workshops

· Performing fire modelling and/or interpreting results

· Assessing the hazards and risks of fire and its effects

· Evaluating prevention and protective measures necessary to limit the likelihood and consequences of fire

· Technically understanding the design, installation, maintenance requirements for fire detection, suppression and control philosophies

· Engaging with relevant stakeholder and regulators

· Travelling to client sites throughout the UK and sometimes overseas to ensure the client needs are met

· Developing and maintaining lasting relationships and or frameworks with clients

· Understanding the commercial impact of all decisions and recognising opportunities for business development

Your skills and experience:

· Proven track record for the technical delivery of fire engineering projects.

· Preferably hold a degree in Fire Engineering or equivalent (this may be as a first degree or as post grad following on from a relevant first-degree STEM)

· Detailed understanding/ knowledge of UK regulations and standards (e.g. ADB, BS9999, RRFSO, PAS 79, PD 7974, etc.)

· Knowledge of other regulatory regimes

· Confident in liaising with design teams, clients, local approving authorities, contractors, and other third parties as required

· Excellent numeracy, report writing and time management skills

· High attention to detail

· Excellent customer service manner, with strong listening and interpersonal skills
