Our FMCG client based in Bedford are looking to expand their engineering function by atleast 3 engineers. They are a recognised brand across the globe and are a company invested in their staff which is very rare to find or a company of their size!

This role will perfectly suit an engineer who has been in a Production / Manufacturing environment previously but hasn't had the opportunity to 'multi skill' themselves.

You'll be working in a team of 4 engineers per shift

Working on different types of Production equipment from packaging to conveyors and high speed production lines.

Working on mechanical and electrical faults (depending on your skill set)

The site are about to have an injection of around £30 mil into the site which will increase the amount of project work on site.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior EBME Biomedical Engineering Technician to join our EBME Department at Bedford Hospital NHS Trust

You will play a key supporting role in the care and maintenance of a broad range of medical equipment throughout Bedford Hospital including across the community sites and sometimes Luton Hospital.

We are a busy department that provides a comprehensive service, carrying out the routine calibration, maintenance, repair and management of the Trust's medical equipment. The successful candidate will be required to work on various medical devices ranging from flow meters, suction units, weighing scales to Infusion pumps, Cardiac Monitors etc.

This is a full time position, working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm).

You will be educated to ONC level in Medical Electronics/Engineering with knowledge and UK experience of working on medical equipment in an acute hospital. We will consider individuals who can demonstrate they have transferable skills and experience in general electrical/electronic engineering. The work requires being able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

Your new role
Your responsibilities as an IT support engineer include (but are not limited to):

• Utilise your technical expertise to diagnose issues with a variety of computer hardware, such as desktops, laptops, and printers, as well as software problems reported to the support desk.
• Collecting necessary information to confirm these issues, enabling effective resolution and system functionality restoration.
• Ensuring all computers and servers are current with the latest security updates and performing routine system administration tasks. They will also verify compliance with software licencing.
• Providing critical support for essential technology in high-pressure environments, including control rooms and live operations, where timing is crucial.
• Handling the setup and installation of new computer systems, including both hardware and software.
• Contributing to the planning and enhancement of technological systems and support processes.
• Performing daily maintenance, system management, data processing, liaising with technology suppliers, and disposing of outdated equipment as instructed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for plant wide proactive and reactive electrical maintenance activities, to ensure the optimum performance of the factory.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Promote the highest Health and Safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Utilise a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to facilitate Planned Preventative Maintenance, Inspections, Service and Repairs
Carry out electrical maintenance and repairs to existing heavy machinery, potentially installing new plant.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship to level 3 city and Guilds, NVQ etc

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar role working on Fire Detection and Suppression Systems

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The delivery of design outputs commensurate with industry and customer standards for use on the customer project.

Specific delivery requirements:
The Consultancy is to deliver engineering design outputs to meet the programme schedule, monitored, adjusted and mutually agreed with Client Delivery Manager and Project Manager over the given timeframe.
Support Client at any customer liaison meetings.

Duties will include carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance to a wide range of building services and equipment. Key Responsibilities
